Embarrassing/Funny story about you and h2b: One of the first meals I cooked for him was bangers and mash which I made at his house. Not paying attention I came through to the kitchen to find flames coming out of the grill and H had to run in and grab the grill pan and through it outside before the kitchen went on fire. All the dials on the cooker were frazzled (and still are as a nice reminder!)

Jen its a tricky one - we were going to have 2 weddings, but then that caused issues as we couldn't see how it would work - who will come to the 'real' wedding and who will come to the 'reception' wedding. also My parents live abroad and they haven't met either of OHs parents.

so after much debating we decided to have one wedding, and say to both that this is what we're doing, and they are both invited - if they want to come they have to behave and respect the fact it's our day and not about them, and if they don't think they can cope then thanks very much and we won't take it personally. so far they both said they will come...

FIL2B has remarried and has kids from the 2nd marriage, MIL2B is on her own.

The first time I ever cooked a meal from scratch I used chillies. When eatinig dinner I rubbed my eye and thought I was going to die. I was screaming for him t get me an ambulance as I must be having an allergic reaction, I wasn't, in hindsight it just stung a bit.

We have a similar issue to you, h2b' parent haven't seen each other since a messy divorce 15 years ago. We would be doing the no head table even if they were still blissfully happy together though.

We've got three long tables with seats either side, they hold 14-16 each. The rest are on round tables of 8-10. Originally there was going to be a seat left at each table but then thought that would mean a divide in the table when we are not there. So now we have the Best man and his gf (a BM) and our CBM and her hubby following us round in rotation.
