I also used to be but I'm too old now!!
Feel free to ask away. I really had great fun, met my husband and several, in fact rather alot of our married friends got together via Rotaract.
I also travelled to Romania with them to help out at a hospice fr children with HIV and AIDS. It is a fabulous organisation but unfortunately in this day and age is sadly going into decline.

I was in Leos, the Lions Club version.

It was brilliant, but that's for 12 - 28 year olds, while Rotaract is slightly older.

We didn't like the local Rotaract, they tended to be stuck up. The general distinction was that they raised money and donated it, we raised money and did stuff.

All these organisations are great though.

What about Rotary? Is it all middle aged bank managers meeting up in golf clubs?

I was told that Rotaract was a society for social misfits - in my curiosity, I did go along to a couple of meetings abut 16 years ago - and I have to say, the people there were really strange individuals - quite square and not with it at all. No offence to anyone here - that was 16 years ago and was my local one - I am sure not all are the same.

Thanks all for the replies and apologies for not responding sooner. I am looking to do something more with life and expand my social circle and thought this would be a good way to do. What kind of activities do they do and how much time commitment does it need?

Yep ? I got the first tick in the box but my youthful appearance didn't match my middle aged attitude ?
