Our RSVP is 10 weeks before - I feel this is quite a long time but its due to the venue needing final numbers 8 weeks before so we have a few weeks to chase people up. If your venue doesn't have anything like this in place I would say 4 weeks is plenty for RSVP's. I think I may send invites a bit earlier - usually 3 months before, but then I suppose its near christmas so it might get lost within that?

It took about 3 weeks from placing order to recieving invites. I dont think its too early to order invites if you know all your info. It's one thing less to do nearer the time.

    ? hey

We are getting married 21st feb 09. and i am sending out my invites in the next few weeks. We are putting a RSVP date for the 1st december. Mainly because i want to relax a bit around Chistmas and New Year (if i can). We are doing the same for the evening invites. I tend to think the sooner the invites go out the longer people have got to sort out what they are doing. Also ours is on a Friday so they may have to give noice to work.

We've set the RSVP date for day time invitations at 8 weeks before, and for the evening invitations we've got an R.S.V.P date of 4 weeks before. We need to let the caterer know final numbers etc.

Also if i were you i'd be sending my invitations out a bit sooner, i'd be thinking of about 2 weeks earlier to give people plenty of time to get them and send R.S.V.Ps back, as you're only going to have 6 weeks from the date of sending them to the actual wedding.

Wow that seems really early!? 8 months before the wedding - with a 6 months rsvp period!

Why not just send an email or a save the date so people know it's on a Friday? My friends sent invites out 12 weeks before (which i still thought was madly early!) and i lost both of them by the time the day came round and had to text the brides the night before to be told when the ceremony was as i couldn't find the invite with the info on!?

I'd be careful if i was you - no piece of paper would survive lying around my house for 8 months!

I'm getting married on 1st Nov and sent out the invites a few weeks ago (family abroad will need to book flights and 80% of guests need to book hotels so did it a bit early). Venue need numbers 7 days before, RSVP is a month before so that gives me three weeks for chasing people.
