RSVP help

getlaced, 15 July, 2010 at 14:39 Posted on Planning 0 5

Hi everyone, im in the process of making up my rsvp's and im unsure who should get them in with their invites, is it just the daytime or should i include them in with the evening invites too? also i want to have an 'rsvp by.....' note on but im unsure how many weeks before the wedding i should allow people to rsvp up until? i hope this is making sense!

My reception venue need the final numbers 5 weeks before the wedding but i want to allow myself enough time to invite more people in place of whoever has declined, not meaning to sound harsh there! were not expecting anyone to decline but you never know who has booked holidays or anything like that..........any oppinions or advice would be appreciated! thanks Smiley smile

We're sending RSVP's out with all of our invites (day and evening) however they're included with the stationery pack we've ordered. I would have probably sent them out to everyone anyway tbh.

We're getting married on the 22nd October and have put our RSVP date as the 27th August, that gives us 7 weeks to chase up any outstanding RSVP's then arrange the table plan and place names and confirm the final numbers to our venue x

I am not expecting my friends to rsvp by anything other than email or text! because going to the postbox is more difficult! The only ones i am going to send rsvp cards to will be the elderly contingent who are not tech savvy! saying that i emailed all my friends i really really want there with the date the day i got it!

Our hotel needed numbers and menus a month in advance.

So they needed everything by the 18th June. I put on the DAY invitations an RSVP date off the 1st May, and they were posted early April.

The EVENING invitations were posted in May - for an RSVP of June 1st. This meant I had time to move people to the day and chase people up all before the 18th JUNE which was a month before the wedding.

In short, I worked backwards and it all went to plan. Twas only the evening guests that I had to chase up coz they prolly thought 6 weeks inadvance waas too early to say yay or nay.... but there was only a dozen or so of them at the end of the day..
