RSVPs within invitations...

MayDay, 10 July, 2008 at 21:31 Posted on Planning 0 9

I'm having A6 gatefold invitations with A6 postcards included for RSVP....just have some questions...

1) Do I supply a return envelope...stamped??

2) Do you prefill the guests names on RSVP

3) Can someone suggest RSVP wording including dietry requirements and suggestion for song (so we can get an idea of music tastes for DJ)

4) Has anyone got any pictures of theirs?

Thanks

Thanks guys...someone on the other post had put: "Name three songs to get you dancing" - which is such a brilliant idea for wording that I might steal!

I made cheque book invitations for ours.

The first page was the traditional invitation.

The second page was the RSVP which I did prefill, as ours is such a little wedding (42 adults, 17 kids!) it was just as easy.

The last page was a bit of blurb to encourage people to use our website to get accomodation, maps, local info, tourist attarctions, venue details, church details. It also had a space to tell us the three songs people would dance to and we used oit to make a playlist see the other thread that way----------------> for details

I provided envelopes which I self addressed with labels (clear, not white as they look better) and a stamp.

I'd post a pic but photofux is playing up again?

Edited to add the wording we used on the reply slip

We hope that you will be able to join us. To help you plan, our

wedding website contains directions, suggestions for local

accommodation, attractions and much more. You can use

the site to chat to other guests or get in touch with us too.

Please let us know if we can help in any other way.

To help to get the party swinging, please tell us the three

tracks that would definitely get you on your feet. Return

this slip with your R.S.V.P in the envelope provided and we’ll

get them played for you so you can strut your funky stuff

The three tracks I/we would dance to are

I had a nightmare with replies. I got two back with no name but saying they will be coming (turned out one was from MIL2B) and several didn't get returned because guests "couldn't find a stamp" - what a lame excuse!

I think prefilling the names is a good idea because you can then call them if they do the other fun thing of sending them back without saying whether they're coming or not. Even though I had trouble getting them back, I still wouldn't put a stamp on the return envelope. I personally think that if I'm paying for their food and drink for a day, the least they can do is fork out 30p for a stamp!

To avoid not knowing who has replied if you get a RSVP with no name on, before you send them out write a number in pencil on the back of the RSVP which corresponds to their names on a list. That way if they leave their name blank, you can match up the number with their name.
