ruined hen - wwyd?

Charlied, 27 September, 2010 at 20:16 Posted on Planning 0 5

Cut a long story short.

booked my hen back in march for this saturday at bannatynes.

been endless *** ups now finally topped off with. Just made call to them to find out my sister and sister-in-law 2b havent been booked in (even though they booked ages ago) and there are no spaces left and they are asking me to re-arrange my date or tell them they cant come. (ermm, 3 weeks til wedding, people have booked time off work, babysitters etc) and more importantly I booked in MArch. I burst into tears and left OH to deal with it and left it I want to cancel the whole thing. The manager is calling in morning but O dont know what to do. im so upset and depressed.

wwyd?

    Oh hun, what a nightmare!

If I was you, I would wait to see what the manager says tomorrow. There may be something they can do afterall. If they can't, then I would cancel and look at some other options. But for now, try to keep calm as you could be getting yourself stressed for nothing.

    Here's a hug. ?

I'd say you have 2 options - rant down the phone until they give you what you want, or tell them where to shove it and go elsewhere.

I booked a restarant for my sister's hen night, and when we arrived they said they had no record of our booking. They found us a table anyway (for 12) and took our orders, then 40 minutes later we were still waiting fo starters, and when we chased they were rude and then admitted they had lost the order. We scoffed the garlic bread they had grudgingly put on the table and then scarpered off to Pizza Hut without paying! Then down the pub of course.

I know it's difficult, but if they're mucking you about I'd make as much fuss as possible. Do you have any paperwork from them? E-mails from all those who booked? I'd also be pushing for a hefty discount if you have to rearrange it.

Thanks kirstie. i know you're right to wait to see what they say, but just so worried it will be yet another unsatisfying answer and as much as im threathening, cancelling is going to be so difficult. some people have paid up to £150 for whole package and nights stay. I offered to give up my treatments so my sister and SIL2B can have theirs but my sister wont take mine. I feel awful. OH is feeling useless so just handed me a tub of chocolate ice cream, so now i will be fat as well as hen-do-less.

We are suppose to be going to hastings in east sussex. However, the whole thing is booked through some random call centre and over the last 6 months I have been pushed from person to person who doesnt know what they are doing, who has paid. They keep admitting they dont know how to deal with my booking, yet somehow it seems that I still have to suffer.

I agree on the basis that complain like mad, Try find there head office and complain there.

I would say mr Bannatyne himself but i think that will be impossible to find... I know hes here in Darlington somewhere I see him now and again driving around.
