Rustic hand made invitations cost 23p *flash*

Recycledbride, 30 December, 2011 at 14:42 Posted on Planning 0 32

I'm feeling pretty pleased with the invitations I have made, even more pleased with the cost!! I'm having a hand made/rustic/eco vintage themed wedding and it took me ages fiddling about with designs until I was happy with them. 11p per card blank, envelope 3p, ribbon/lace/pearl slider 3p, printing ink/paper 6p. Time, hours and hours but I really enjoy making things!

This is the inside

This is the little info booklet

This is the evening invitation (had to be different as I used 2 layers of lace hearts which i cut from vintage net curtain from Oxfam and I ran out!!! Doh!)

I'm happy to share where I bought my materials from and how I made them, if there's enough interest.

Thank you Kharv, the card is from a company called eco craft. I highly recommend them. I'm very keen on recycling (if you remove the pearl slider from the card when finished, the invite can be composted!)

We found the font online (it was a free one) after spending an entire morning looking for the right one. I'll ask my partner when he gets in what it's called.

Thanks Jude! Can I ask which one it was and in what weight? Did it go through a normal printer fine?

It was this one ...R11 120x120mm Card Blank Pack of 25 : Ref: R11 (Hairy Manilla which is lovely and rustic)

and it went through our Lexmark printer with no problems.

Eco craft do a free sample service, I ordered different weights of card to find out which I was happiest with.

    Perfect, thank you! ?

I've made my invitations but still need to make my OOS. I've been looking for some card like this that wasn't crazy expensive. Love the Hairy Manilla colour. Pleased it seems to be a tad lighter than it looks on the website - I was worried it was going to be too dark.

    oh go for it....

yes, I am making most of the easy stuff like invites, order of the day, bouquets, bunting, myself...even thinking of having a go at making my own bridal jewellery. I'm not making my dress, I draw the line there, don't want the day to be a total dog's breakfast.....? Jude's Home made wedding....beat it Kirstie....?

Jude kindly did a little tutorial on a different thread - thought I'd add it. It says where all the materials are from too.
