Rustic or Vintage Cake Stand Needed!!

KarenJane, 20 June, 2013 at 20:45 Posted on Planning 0 8

Wondering if any one can help - we're having a very rustic wedding cake (Think sponge cream and strawberrys!) and have just realised we need a single base stand to put it on. So looking for something quite rustic or vintage looking to hire or buy - it needs to be at least 30cm as we will be piling fruit all around it.

If anyone knows where i can get one at quite short notice as getting married next Saturday 29th!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thank you!

Is it one of the naked wedding cakes? They're fab! There are a couple of quite simple ones on ebay which would set it off quite nicely:

Although it's cutting it a bit fine on postage! 😮

Hi Trish - Yes it is one of the naked cakes - its layers of vanilla and chocolate sponge filled with a strawberry cream filling and then surrounded by strawberries and cherrys - YUM!!

Thanks for the link - as you say its the postage time thats the issue.

I saw one in John Lewis although It's only 27cm diam, glass plate with a cream rustic looking metal frame, in fact I want it for myself but im not allowed apparently as I already own a cake stand:

No problem, I carried it around for about 20 minutes before putting it back a couple of weeks ago!
