Sample Sale

Penguin2013, 16 August, 2012 at 12:21 Posted on Planning 0 5

Hi,

I have a budget of about £500 for my wedding dress and Everything I like the look at is over budget! I have tried on dresses in monsoon and bhs but they didn't feel like the one. I havent been to a bridal shop yet because I think most of their dresses will be over budget! However a few shops in my area have sample sales over the coming weekends. I have phoned them and they say you don't need an appointment just come in.

Has anyone been to a sample sale? What should I expect? I'm guessing there will be queues for the changing room and I might not be able to try on lots of dresses. Is it best to try on dresses before and then go to the sale with a dress in mind?

Thanks Smiley smile

I went to one in Morgan Davies, London. I'd recommend getting there early and take a helper if you can, my Mum was great at grabbing anything lace (I knew I wanted lace) and then we got the first changing room. Keep scouting around though as as people discard dresses they get put onto the rack again.

Depending on where in the country you are, there's shops that sell sample dresses that you can book appointments for, I know of one in North London.

Thanks, I'm in Essex. I think I'm going to ring some more shops this afternoon! My Moh is coming with me. Did you have a set amount you could take into the changing room?

I haven't been myself but someone mentiond to me to try 'Wedding Dress Factory Outlet' in Kent, https://www.wed2b.com/wedding-dresses

The website states dresses are for sale between £150 and £400... so might be worth a look! x

    Hi,

Not sure if you have found your dream dress yet, but try Berkshire Brides, she is great has such a vast selection of dresses, so many different designers at excellent prices, if anyone can help you they can. If you tell her the lady at Finethings recommended her! (That's me by the way fine-things.co.uk)

    Good luck
