Save the Date Heeeeeeeeeeeeelp!!!

ShootingStar, 7 August, 2008 at 12:56 Posted on Planning 0 6

HI All,

Me and my STD Cards AGAIN!!! So, we have ordered fridge magnets off Vista Print (which we both love), I have tried to find card that matches them but have failed!! The card I did buy I spent hours chopping up only to realise it was the wrong colour. I decided to mock up what I thought would look nice and it looked terrible .... Basicall magnet mounted on card with ribbon around.

Can anyone make any suggestions as to how I can make these magnets look good??? I am thinking of asking a stationary HIB to help but am not sure of cost!!!

Let me know if you need anymore information!

A x

Have you got a picture or a link of what the magnets look like?

    I don't - I am really sorry.

They are business card size. White back ground with a green border and green writing. Our colours are green and pink.

    Hey,

The card has been cut in to A6 size and then I tried to cut two slits so the card would be held in place. I then tied a ribbon around the card. But it looks terrible!!!

I think I am going to give up ☹️ and see if a HIB can rescue me!! I just don't think I can do it!!

When I make the A7 size magnets I just provide little envelopes to send them in - I don't tend to mount them on anything as some brides like to send them in Christmas cards etc or with other things. But here's a few alternative ideas to try:

1- just attach them on plain A6 size postcards (or card cut to that size) with non-permanent glue dots so they'll fit in a standard c6 envelope. You could even run them through a printer with a short message on the top or bottom. They will sit better than if slotted through slits.

2- Rather than trying to match the colours to cardstock which often have a limited colour palatte - I would be more inclined to pick either a standard white or ivory card and maybe print in the green colour a little flourish, border or typed message.

3- The other thing I sometimes do is to put them in little cellophane sleeves which you can get reasonably priced from many online craft shops and then seal them with a little label - again, you can print a message on it if you wish. Perhaps you can even make little tiny tags threaded with 3mm ribbon and attach to the top of the sleeve (where it folds over) with either a pre bought sticker/seal of just a staple.

I hope that helps a little

I ordered postcards from Vistaprint in a design to match the magnet - one side had a message on in the same colours & the other was a watermarked version of the magnet picture & I just stuck the magnet in the middle of the watermarked side & popped them in with Christmas cards.

THe only thing is that the postcards came in a huge batch so I had loads left over.
