Save the Date help

~Lee~, 26 July, 2011 at 19:34 Posted on Planning 0 12

I'm looking for something a bit creative and different for my save the date cards, but can't find anything via google searches I like so far. I don't want anything that has pictures of us on it or anything too cheesy, just a bit different. That might be using something other than paper or card to print them on or a really distinctive design. Unfortunately I'm not that creative myself, so can't think of anything.

Can anyone help?

I bought some empty magnet cases from ebay to put mine in but have yet to get around to designing or putting anything in them ?

Just thought it was a bit better than a card that can easily go missing!

It can go on my very long to-do list!

Have you looked at Vistaprint, it has lots of options and very reasonably priced, and they do magnets etc.

    Hi

How about a 12 month calendar like the STD of my Damask Square?

    Save the Date Calendar

I can design it to any specification you like.

I actually designed my own on the old laptop...probably not the best but meant i could email them to save funds. As a lot of my friends know when and where, I just wanted something very basic with the date as a extra nudge lol.

Thanks for the input so far. All great ideas ?

OH has just come home and announced that's he's been thinking about the Save the Dates and he remembers receiving some flyers when he was on holiday printed onto fabric which he thought was cool, so wants to incorporate fabric somehow into the design, which I thought was a fab idea!

Just not sure where to source something like that though!

What about taking some fun photos? with the message you want the guests to receive on cards, then do a collage of the photos, buy some cheap magnets and stick them on the back. found this pic, hopefully you get the idea Smiley smile

We got a Tea Towel for a recent save the date and I thought they were a very good idea! We use them all the time so the date of our friends wedding is constantly displayed in our kitchen!

Other save the date's I've had were fridge magnets and come in handy as well as being a constant reminder

    Hi Lee

If you're looking for something a little quirky for save the dates - I have a few on my website such as those below but also take custom commissions which often include unusual print and finishing methods such as the last photo (on wood). You're welcome to email me if you would like to discuss ideas.

Suz - your work is fabulous! I did see some save the date match books elsewhere and was an idea I had been considering.
