Save the Date Magnets

jess44, 28 September, 2012 at 16:30 Posted on Planning 0 14

Hi all!

I'm trying to find some pretty save the date magnets but struggling a bit...there seem to be a huge number of companies in America but not many in UK. Any ideas/recommendations?

Thank you!

We're making our own Smiley smile

We've bought little wooden hearts from ebay (£3.20 for 20) and also 100 magnets (£3.05)

We're just going to glue the magnets on, paint the hearts with chalkboard paint and write on the front of the hearts with liquid chalk.
Not everyones cup o tea i'm sure, but something a little different to the usual magnets

    Something like this:

We designed postcards on Vistaprint ( left them in basket to get discount ) then bought self adhesive magnets from ebay to stick on them.

If you decide to make your own, you can also buy rolls of magnetic strip - we use it all the time when making magnets at school...might be good for the budget?

We went with The Card Gallery - reasonable prices (£32 for 50 magnets) and seemed to have more designs we liked than vistaprint

    1. I made ours too. Just bought some nice patterned card that matches our colour scheme. Printed save the date and stuck it on cream card then onto patterned card - then bought a cheap roll of magnetic strip for a couple of quid which was sticky on one side. They've turned out ok i think?! Cost hardly anything to make!

Go for it hun, i am not in the slightest bit artistic but have quite impressed myself! I bought card called first edition isabelle premium paper pad, bought lots and lots about £50 worth in different sizes it matches my colour theme perfectly! They have different colours so you might find one to suit yours. Also ive seen them in the range. Its got such pretty patterns and a little sparkle too.

Another tip i bought a trimmer from asda online it was only £5!!! Cut through the card easily was so impressed!

Found this handy site too for actually designing the save the date card (i also know nothing about computers so this was a great help!)

good luck and let us know how you get on and flash when you're done! Smiley smile xxx

My tog very kindly took an image of what I wanted for save the dates, and edited it for me.

I then bought magnetic photo paper (http://www.photopaperdirect.com/products/A4-Inkjet-Magnetic-Paper-Sheet-Gloss-Buy-1-Get-1-Free.html) and am getting a printer we use at work to print and trim them for me.

This is a rough version I printed yesterday (on the wrong type of printer, and cutting it out with scissors!)
