Save the date query

maxinegallie, 20 October, 2011 at 18:38 Posted on Planning 0 3

Hi everyone

You've been full of great advice for me so far, so thought I'd ask what is probably a silly question.

I am making my save the date cards this weekend with a bridesmaid, we will have wine and choc so time isn't an issue. If you made/bought yours, did you make sure you had extras just in case? Mainly concerned over having enough materials so I dont run out, should I plan for extras to be prepared?

    Hi

I would definitley get extra materials as you may need extras and also you may need to redo some if there are problems. There is nothing more annoying than running out of something with just a few left to make!

    Hope it goes well

Always have spare in case of bodges.

I remember a while ago a bride posting about making invitations then knocking her drink over and ruining a pile of about 15 invitations that had to be made again.

You may also find that you get responses from some people before the invitations go out to say they can't make it, which means that you can revisit your guest list and maybe sent STD's to a few more people.

I made mine (see the friday flashes thread from today) I made about 10 extra as I wanted to keep one for myself. As people have told us they can't make our date I have sent more out to those who were on the 'standby' list. I'm down to one left now, so think I might have to make some more - doh!

I have just finished mine too! We bought enough materials to make the 50 odd we needed and then had enough leftover to make 5 or so and one for us to keep. We already had to change one due to the bestman splitting with his other half the day after we finished making them!! I'm also receiving a lot of family pressure to invite certain family members to the reception, so in the end I may still need to make a couple more although I am trying to keep up my firm 'no'.
