I think its normally around 6-9 months before the wedding although I guess you can send them anytime, especially if you have guests from overseas.

When is your wedding?

Hi Curly Panda, we sent ours out 1 year before & put on there that invitations were to follow. But our wedding is on a Monday so we were giving people the heads up about getting time off work, etc. ?

We sent ours out around late september/early October I think and the wedding is in June. x

The wedding is May 7th 2011 so I was thinking the end of next may to send them out especially to those in the states

I think a year is fine - I've even seen 15 months. That should allow the people in the States enough time to organise their holidays, but keep it enough in people's minds.

I guess if people need to arrange flights etc. you may as well send them out as soon as your date is confirmed. Even if you only do the US ones now, and the others a year or so in advance.

We sent them out about a year before, maybe 10 months I don't remember - we have lots of guests coming from overseas though.

I'm thinking of sending them out in february so a year ahead. We're having a midweek wedding with some guests staying for the week so will need to arrange time of work etc.

We sent ours out to our family and anyone who would need to book flights about 11 months before. Then we sent them out to other guests about 8 months before. I agree with bygeorge, I would send the ones to the US now, or as soon as you are sorted and then you can do your other ones just after May, when you have 11 months or so to go.
