Save the dates advice

Bride to be Becky from Derbyshire, 22 May, 2012 at 18:50 Posted on Planning 0 8

Hi all ,

We are getting married in July next year . I want to send the save the dates out a year to our wedding to try to make sure no one books holidays etc around this weekend if possible.

Am I right in just sending save the dates to the day guests only?

Ive had a look on vista print and have seen people on here before have had them made into fridge magnets. Just wondering if anyone has done this and any advice as to how short information wise to keep it?

thinking something along the lines of :

Save the date

Saturday 6th July 2013

Bride name & Groom name

We would love it if you could attend our wedding so keep us in your diary !

More information to follow

(in our wedding colours and possibly a pic of us or just a simple pic like a pair of wedding rings)

Any help appriciated

Thanks Bride to be becky from derbyshire xxx

We're sending postcards of our venue. The wording is:

This is the venue for our wedding on Friday 31 May 2013. Please put the date in your diary - invitations will follow next year. Look forward to seeing you there! C&M x

Fridge magnets are a great idea, and I've heard good things about Vistaprint.

We did vistaprint postcards, to day guests only. You can send to evening too but I'd advise different wording to make clear you're asking them to save the evening only. These were mine.

For a save the date I wouldn't worry much about the wording. You just want to make sure they get the important details... the bride and groom and the date. ?

We're doing STD fridge magnets too, and only sending them to day guests. The wording is going to be really simple, no details about venues etc. I'm ordering mine tomorrow (TFI Pay Day)

Hi, We got fridge magnet save the dates from Vista print. Just to warn you that they charge quite a lot for postage! Its still pretty cheap but when you get the postage page you realise why they charge so little for the actual item. But ours arrived on time and looked great. Ours just had a photo of us on it and said:

xxxx & xxxx are getting married on 25th August 2012. Please save the date.

Lots of people said they really liked them. Have fun ordering yours!
