Save the dates, when to send?

We are getting married August 2016 and we sent out STD's in August & September 2015.

The invites then went out April 2016.

I think a year's notice is good enough for the times when people booking holiday's is common!

I agree with PP, it's usually about a year so I would send them as soon as you receive them.

We sent ours a year ahead but that's because we get married August bank holiday weekend so there was a good chance people would book a weekend away on holiday etc.

Hi, we are getting married 29th April 2017 and have already sent ours out. We were aiming for a year before the wedding, but most of them ended up going out beginning of May just because of one delay and another! We are only having a small day (45ish) and many of my family are travelling across the globe, so wanted to get them out asap. We are planning on getting invitations out in September time.

We have sent ours out this week for our wedding on 13th May '17... so about a year ahead. Already had one decline and one person have to hastily re arrange something, so I'd get them out ASAP!

We sent ours out with Xmas cards we get married a few weeks after you!

The people I wanted there no matter what I let know as soon as we had set the date and then all of the wedding guests got a STD 12 months before the day, full invites 4 months in advance and evening invites went out 3 months before

We get married July 2018 and were thinking sending them with Xmas cards. I know that's more than a year before. But it's not definite we will send them then may leave it until after Xmas xx

I'm sending mine around 13/14 months in advance. I think the whole point of them is to ensure they keep themselves available so I would think as soon as possible is best, even if it's a year and a half!

We're getting married July 2017 and we started handing ours out after Christmas. We still have some sitting in the box which need going out but as we have just over a year, I'm not too worried just yet. We have been handing them out as and when we see people but I think we will need to go on a little delivery spree! X
