Save the dates x

My wedding was a couple of weeks ago and I sent them out with last years christmas cards so about 10 months before. I think anywhere around a year maybe? entirely up to you though.

I'm sending mine out now for our wedding next September. I wanted to make sure that everyone put it in their diaries and could come. Now that I've written this, it's sounds really selfish!!! That wasn't what I meant....really I just want to make sure all my loved ones can come and share it with us so they don't miss out too. Plus I have people coming from overseas so I want to give the as much time as possible to get flights, etc.

We are April 2013 and on a Friday. We have lots of family weddings next year, but all will be over by the end of June, so we intend to send our save the dates in July. I know it sounds RIDICULOUS...but I am a bit embarrassed to send them too soon in case I look like some sort of wedding-loon...

I'm the same so am planning to send them out with xmas cards this year so that I know they're done - I know it's pretty early but hopefully people won't think i'm toooo wedding obsessed (apart from OH!)

Plus saves postage costs with Christmas cards and i found it made me make sure that I had everyone's addresses at an early stage ?

Our wedding is 9 months today and I'm hoping to get most of ours out by the end of this month. We didn't get engaged long ago though, and had set the date within 3 days of getting engaged so were able to spread the date verbally when we told people. I'd say about a year before is fine!
