Just found out this morning that we have a 'bun in the oven' ?

So we are going to have to tighten our purse strings.

I am changing my phone to pay as you go, I have cut down on our food shopping and I can stop buying shoes

What else?!

Www.moneysavingexpert.com is a good website for money saving tips.

Just realised I didn't say congratulations - how roode!!! Anyway, congratulations!! ? <---- soft drink for you, champagne for me!

Congratulations! Start meal planning, cutting down on spending what you don't have to and just take care with your pennies. My friend has a piggy bank (one you have to smash to get the money out) and she is putting all her change in each day for when her 'bun' arrives!

My ideas would be to:

food - meal plan, bulk cook (and freeze portions), eat less meat, watch for money spent on ready meals and takeaways

make sure you're on the cheapest gas/electric tariff

do you have subscriptions for things you no longer use/want ie magazines, gym

cars - if you have two cars, could you make do with one? If you have one, could you use it less? If its uneconomical, would it be worth changing?

do you have things you no longer want that you can sell?

if you have cable TV/sky, could you get freeview instead?

phone around for car/house insurance when they come up for renewal
