Does anyone else struggle with not peeing themselves

i feel like a bad mother - all the other mothers manage to maintain a dignified and proud in their child appearance

i am reduced to shuddering through the whole thing 'the baybehhh cheezus woz boooorn in befleham'

1 down - 2 to go

After several weeks of "wif come t seey da baybeee" I'm ready for the end.

Missed the dress rehearsal today as I was ill - apparently the children are dropping like flies, only 2 angels, no Joseph, 3 speakers ill - at this rate tomorrow's performance won't happen!

As a teacher I flit between laughing and crying at nativities!

Some great moments come then, some are hillarious, some are moving. Got to love it!

We're not doing a nativity this year, we did one last year and we like to change it around!

I love 'em and will be singing along with the songs (I've heard them often enough to know all the words lol) She is only four though so it still has an immense cuteness factor.

(Mind you, I also had to be restrained from doing a victory knee slide when she won musical bumps at a birthday party at the weekend)

It is ours tomorrow. I think I will be quite proud but also hysterical with laughter. I haven't seen my boy in his costume yet and he's playing a cockerel so it's bound to be funny. I'm also slightly nervous as he has to announce the birth of the baybeh Jesus-so much potential for it to go wrong. I am also concerned that his dodgy hip will give way at a dramatic moment. 39 reception children, how much can go wrong? CAn it better last year's nursery production where the Angel Gabriel had to rush off for a wee halfway through?

Oh no! i do love them - but find them enormously funny

i am really proud - especially of A today as it is the first time he has had the nerve to get on the stage and he was great

but still find it all knicker peeing funny - i must just be very childish

We had ours last week. It was 3-5 year olds and it was fantastic. They did really well - a 25 minute play with lots of songs. My daughter was a snowflake ?. A shepherd had to be taken back to his Mum, crying; an angel had halo trouble; the main player forgot a line; and the snowflakes headdresses were rather mobile (i.e. fell down and blinded them at times). And it was moving and wonderful. And I laughed really hard too. I adored it.

I tend to think "ahh" to most of it, but I've seen the rehearsals so many this year, I'll be numb by the time I see it for real on Wednesday as just a parent.

But as staff, we are doing a small sketch where we act out a dress rehearsal and have included all the things we've seen over the years. "Joseph" throws up, Mary is hit with the baby Jesus, the lamb has nits and the shepherds, of which I'm one, get into trouble with their crooks, lifting up skirts and whacking each other.

I sit through ours wondering what is going on as it's all in Welsh (which boy child speaks but I don't!) It's the same for around 70% of the audience I think!! We all smile and clap politely when the welsh speakers amongst us start to clap and laugh!

I love to watch them though - the kids are all fab. Mine is a cow this year so I've spent tonight sewing odd shaped blobs onto pajamas to make the costume. Fun, fun fun!!

IKt's my daughters first 'live' performance tomorrow night and she says that 'alot of people just arn't ready to go in front of an audience yet mummy' (she's 8). It's a shame I'm not going to see it, but my OH & son are so I'm sure I'll get all the feedback when they return! I have ordered the DVD to watch at a later date though!

This year is my son's final year at primary school, before he starts senior school - so probably the final nativity I will see him in.(as I presume they don't do nativities at senior school) it is the end of an era and rather sad.

After 6 children I have sat through so many of these but I love them! And tomorrow is my youngest's first one, he's 3 and he's a shepherd - the only toy sheep we had for him to carry is a Shaun the sheep but he loves it ? And when he sings Away in a Manger complete with actions I shall blub like I always do!

See, the nativity I remember best was my own in the equivalent of yeat 2. I finally had a speaking part as 3rd Innkeeper's wife (we were the ones who gave Mary and Joseph the stable), and just at my starring moment, my stage husband wet himself dramaticaly, and we all had to dodge out of the way of the resulting pool ?. My Oscar worthy performance was totally lost ?

My daughter is just 4 and it's hers tomorrow. I've booked the afternoon off work so I can go The dress rehearsal last week was chaos so I hope the perforlmance is better!?

I have been stingy though andinstead of buying her a proper angel costume she has her bridesmaid dress & some wings - I still need to get some tinsel for a halo! Hope she doesn't look too naff next to the ones whose parents have shelled out for a costume!

My youngest has landed the starring part of Mary - she has 1 line and 1 song which whenever I try to get her to practice it at home she sings it in a thrash metal type voice ala Korn and the like - I am quite concerned for tomorrow - she is 3! ?
