scout/guides/youth workers can I also pick your brains?

I have to sort a 'games bank' out. I need games/activities that use very little equipment (and cheap to run!) that kids love to do!

So far I have I have

tarpaulin/ fairy liquid and water - slide!

various wide games

and I'm stuck! i have the usual bat and ball type things but I am looking for fun/not run of the mill stuff. My boss wants 'risky' play like rope swings. The kids are bored (and so am I) with the bank of games I’ve inherited. I have a small budget for things that can be re-used.

TIA

One good one is a string trail. So you send the string over obstacles, under things, round things etc then everyone is blindfolded. The person in the front has to go slowly and following the string and when they get to something relay back along the line whether you go over or whatever. Good for building teamwork as usually the person in front helps the one behind.

Just wondering as well whether you have enough money to buy some poles and rope and make things like a rope bridge etc?

I was at a play area a few weeks ago that had a fire pit - obviously needs to be supervised but it goes down a storm, they love it. Ticks all the risky play boxes too. When we were there the kids had made bread dough with the playworkers and were cooking it on sticks over the fire.

Thanks everyone, sorry the computer system would allow me to type for 2-3 mins before crashing.

Gryfon, thank you for that. I remember doing something on a work team building day. I will add that to my new 'bank' I have rope, but I am waiting for permission from green spaces to use the trees.

Essesmum and Lou-smudge thank for the links.

Hello sunshine, I would love to do fire pit stuff as I have all the equipment (my own) but I am not allowed to light fires in the parks.

    thanks everyone!
