Sea Side Theme Ideas

starla, 29 June, 2010 at 09:08 Posted on Planning 0 18

Hi Everyone,

We've decided on a sea side theme, but want it to be tasteful and fun but not tacky. I've got a few ideas up my sleve just wondered if all you lovely ladies had any ideas??

I'm stuck on ideas for centre pieces and invitations ☹️

So far the things I've thought of in terms of being related to sea side are:

  • beach balls
  • sand castles
  • wind breakers
  • deck chairs
  • buckets and spades
  • shells
  • star fish
  • fish
  • hats sun brollys
  • beach towels
  • beatch huts

The thing I'm working on at the mo is what can I put on the invites in terms of picture or embelishment, all I could think of was two fishes kissing?

Thanks Girlies ?

How about about a couple on the beach?

beach hut with *getting married* sign on door?

2 shells with your names on?

    2 deck chairs?

    Hi

this sounds like a fun theme I take it from your ideas that you are going traditional british seaside so the only other things I can think of are donkeys!!!! and rock, could you maybe get it made with your own message running down the middle and incorporate into centre piece or use as favours?!? x

Sorry me again but I just managed to find this pic and I think something like this would be great for invitations, obviously without all the writing on it

I like invites with Shells on for this sort of theme (picture below) I had a customer who had names of beaches for her table names and she also put a bottle on her tables with a note pad and pen for everyone to leave a note and place it in

Wow you guys are all up early lol, thanks there are loads of good ideas there Smiley laugh hmm now might have too much choice haha

naboo - the rock can be quite expensive so we're going to buy bulk rock sweets that say just married/mr & mrs Smiley laugh and as for the donkey I was thinking maybe a pin the tail on the donkey for the kids Smiley laugh

I like all the sea shell/star fish stuff just want to make sure it's more sea side and not tropical beach although I love the idea of the message in a bottle for each table Smiley laugh

How about pebbles with people's names painted on them as place names?

Why don't you try putting shells on your invites, you can buy them in bulk on ebay?

Also, when I was looking at getting married abroad, I found loads of fab favour ideas, like different coloured sand in a miniature glass bottle etc.. I've deleted all the links now but have a search, there's some fab ideas.

Bygeorge - i was thinking of this, i have to weigh up how much time it'll take and how early i'd have to start them lol plus i also think it's quite fitting the quality of sounthend sea front lol

gemchoo i saw those and was tempted but i found some bargin glass jars (50p each) that we're going to fill with sweets i think although i do like the idea of filling them with sand/shells Smiley laugh

will need a conference with CBM and OH as MIL2B is getting a bit irritating lol

    Hi Starla,

We have some starfish diamante embellishments which are great for seaside or beach themed wedding stationery designs:

Grrrr computer bugged and erased my message before I had time to post it... ?

I suggest lighthouses as table centres, or names of lighthouses as table names? You could find some lighthouse-shaped lanterns (I have one at home)

I like the idea of using pebbles as place names too, I have seen it in France a lot!

Beach huts: mini ones as favours, or bigger ones as table centres (or menu holders, table name holders)

Use fishing nets to make your table plan, with empty scallop shells maybe?

Table centres using coloured sand (blue & yellow-ish) in a wide glass bowl, to create a mini-beach. Add a few pebbles, star fish, a gel candle in the middle maybe?

Or this sort of place names https://www.mariage-original.com/component/page,shop.product_details/flypage,shop.flypage/product_id,199/category_id,33/manufacturer_id,0/option,com_virtuemart/Itemid,100/ or https://www.mariage-original.com/component/page,shop.product_details/flypage,shop.flypage/product_id,155/category_id,33/manufacturer_id,0/option,com_virtuemart/Itemid,100/.

I might try to find some pictures, it might make more sense ?
