Second time round brides ..

Simply put, we were too young and had different values. I was barely 20, and he 23 (I think -- so long ago now that I can't confidently remember his age!) We met at university when I was 18, dated for a 1.5 years, and then got married for religious reasons. (At that time I adopted his religion, even though now I'm very a-religious.) Suffice to say, it was a disaster! He was completely irresponsible about finances and what it took to make a relationship work. (I probably wasn't much better about being understanding of certain things.) On top of that, I really didn't like his religion and didn't want to be a part of it any longer.

Just want to add, that this is not to say that a young marriage won't work. I know there are loads of young brides on here, and I know couples who were married quiet young and are married now over 10 years later! It just didn't work for us.

1. we divorced because of his infidelity! Looking back I an so glad he did what he did as I would not be in the postion I am in now where I am so happy I could burst!

2. We were born in the same hospital (6 years apart) and have some mutual friends (for 20 years) but just had not met (or realised that we had) Our mutual friends asked us both if we fancied going to Brands Hatch to watch the bike racing - we met at the petrol station at the end of his road and he says that just seeing my eyes (I did have a crash helmet on) he knew that I was the one. We spent the day flirting with each other and that was that (sort of). He is my soulmate, my best friend, my everything. I def did not feel that the first time round. He says the same thing - this is different to anything he has ever known.?

It went wrong first time round for loads of reasons but the main thing I found out he cheated on me and I just could not forgive him.

I know this H2B is the one as its different this time I'm older, wiser and this man I'm in love with and I know he is in love with me and would like to think he would never hurt me. This man when I first met him never wanted to get married, have kids, buy a house etc but we are currently living in our first home for 2 years with a 1 year old and getting married in 5 months!!!

1. He informed me one Xmas eve he was leaving me and walked out a week later. After shagging half of Birmingham, I think.

2. Through climbing and mountaineering - we were climbing partners and mates for ages before getting together as a couple

I had body dysmorphia for the 10 years my ex and I were together, what I didn't know then was his actions were fueling my hatred of myself. After we married I got into wrestling photography, met loads of new people, gained immense confidence and my eating disorders slowly melted away. I started to realise that the things he did and said were what was keeping my illness going and the day I left him, I never looked back and have not hated myself once since.

My H2B was a wrestler at the company I worked for, as his day job he is a postman and 4 years later he had a parcel to deliver to me, we got chatting and started spending time together, eventually we got togther as a couple. I know he's the one because we are as crazy as each other! Christmas day he ran up and down the street dressed as batman, I never know whats coming next! lol!

So sorry to hear about your ex. I once dated a guy who literally made me mental and enter clinical depression. None of us should have to endure abuse from our partners.

That being said, the way you met your H2B is so a la Legally Blonde!!! What a great story!!!
