Secret shame television

Sparklywug, 7 August, 2009 at 22:07 Posted on Off Topic Posts 0 37

Following on from the traffic cops thread... what other secret shames do you have when watching tv?

Mine is clubs reps, ibiza uncovered, anything like that.... it's a bit like car crash tv, I just can't stop watching it when it's on and am disappointed at the end that there isn't more!

Count me in to the True Movies kleek.

TBF, I'm not a terribly discerning viewer but I do love a good weep.

I love Crimewatch, Road Wars, Sky Cops, Traffic Cops, Police Interceptors, Booze Britain.

As I live in Swindon, our town is sometimes featured in such programmes ? I once saw a cop from Road Wars or somesuch in a local nightclub and, fuelled by lager, went up to him and said "Oooh my god you were on Road Wars!". H said I was embarrassing and dragged me away ?

Think its already been mentionned but Booze Britain on Bravo gave me 2 hours of entertainment last night!!!! I just wonder what some of these kids think a few years on when they see themselves all boozed up and obnoxious.

I used to love Australian Princess - anyone remember that?! Harry Hill used to have a field day with that!

Another one for Cops on Camera/Night Cops/Traffic Cops etc. We're in Edinburgh so can quite often pick out various old haunts of ours (and in one instance a place we go to every week and a few of our friends in the background).

Also Wife Swap, Girls of the Playboy Mansion and Kendra but I cannot stomach the Kardashians or Denise Richards!

Everwood. Currently showing on E4 between Smallville & Veronica Mars. Hokey hokey morality TV, yet somehow I care about the brilliant brain surgeon who lost his wife, his teenage weirdo son and small precocious daughter and their adjustment to small town life in Butt-Fuck , Colorado.

Snog, Marry, Avoid is good one and I have been known to watch Jeremy Kyle, though I always feel a bit grubby and disappointed in myself afterwards.

But a fave of mine is the 'men with dangerous occupations' genre - particularly The Deadliest Catch, but also Ice Road Truckers, Axe Men (about lumberjacks), Oil Riggers, Trawlermen etc.
