given notice, bought my dress (not had it altered tho yet), bought place cards, sent the Save the Dates, booked the reception, booked the cars, booked the honeymoon (dad did it as a treat), sorted the chair covers and organised insurance
Sounds like you both are full swing into the planning. It is so exciting isn't it? Enjoy the coming months. Things will become more hectic but try to sit back and enjoy the process. It's half the fun! Good luck!
I did a load of planning & sorting yesterday! All my paperwork/ideas are finally in order in a folder. I'm glad I went through it all as I realised that I have to pay 25% to the venue in March! I also need to ring & book an appointment to give notice of marriage sharpish! Also on my list for the next few days is to book appointments with the florist & the dress shop where my fave dress so far resides & email the venue about a few bits.
I've done a lot but there still seems to be shed loads more to book/sort/buy!!
Venue for reception is booked, as is the regstry office. We went to give our notice on the Friday befor Christmas and can collect our marriage license from Monday! we will probably go and get it Friday though as DP works from home that day so can slip out and pick it up.
We know who our caterer is but need to pay them a visit and finalise costs (he's a friend with a catering business) sometime this month. We've also asked a friend who is a professional photographer to do our photography. Oh and my mum is making our cake - she did a practice one as a Christmas cake.
Im off to try wedding dresses on tomorrow with one of my bridesmaids. If I could get that sorted I'd bemuch, much happier!
Hey im also a Sept bride and got our big things sorted- venue, cars, dresses for me and bridemaids, registrar and the hen and stag do's are now booked!!
Next thing to look into is the florist then look into making our invites. What dates are everyone? I'm 7th
So far I've booked the venue, registrar & photographer. I've designed & paid for my cake. Our wedding rings have been made, I got them just before Christmas. I've sent out Save the Dates & the same woman is doing my invites. I've chosen a design for the bridesmaid dresses, have found a dress maker & have put a deposit on some material. I haven't really gotta sort transport as my friend's hubby is taking the OH to the venue in his BMW & I'm being taken in a friend's Jag. The bridesmaids are gettting themselves there (they offered!) It's a one way 4 mile journey down country lanes so it seems like a waste to pay out hundreds on fancy cars that no-one will really see! I've booked an appointment with a lady I met at a wedding fayre for Wednesday to discuss flowers, centre pieces & chair covers. I've decided on my favours & just need to get another 2 quotes to make sure the price I've got is good! I've taken out insurance. I've booked my main hen weekend in Magaluf. My Sis is being left to sort the one nighter in this country! I've found a dress I love & I'm going to book another appointment at the shop this week. I'm going to try on some stuff from a new collection they're getting in but I think that I've already found 'the one'!! My friend is doing my make up free of charge & I'm hoping she'll do a few of my bridesmaids as well.
I still need to give notice of marriage, finalise my guest list & table plan, decide what I'm having accessories & hair style wise, find out how much my hairdresser will charge to curl all my bridesmaids' hair, buy shoes & hair accessories for them, buy a dress & shoes for my 2 year old Daughter who's flower girl, decide who is going to be my 2nd witness, choose all the music for the ceremony, sort a playlist for the evening reception & lose another 3 stone!!!
Guest list Reception venue- paid deposit Registry office and given notice Cake (have an appointment @ end of Jan for tasting! YUM!) Honeymoon (dad) Hair (friend) Make up (sister) Photographer (OH's cousin) Table linen & napkins (OH's auntie who's handy with a sewing machine!) Wedding night hotel (mum) Band for reception (brother) Hen weekend Save the dates (sent) Invitations (have been liaising with the person making them; going to pay at end of month and send out in March)
To do:
Dress, shoes, etc.... ☹️ Rings Bridesmaid dresses Flowers, decs, etc for the venue. Have loads of ideas; just have to pull my finger out and start making / buying them!
Not much to do then, I guess! Thank you- this list has actually made me feel a lot better about the whole thing! ?
thats about it!! Oh bought my shoes yesterday, just randomly while out shopping. My mum bought us a guestbook but its a bit boring (should be grateful i know) but might change it. And i think my mum said she had booked our friend for chair covers will have to double check that. Im very laid back. Cant decide on a colour theme!!
Have sorted so far...church, church choir, venue, menu, dj, band, transport, TOG, flowers (Mum is doing pew ends and two displays, florist is doing buttonholes, and bouquets), deposit paid on my dress, shoes for the day, cake (Wonderful mum again), cake topper, centre pieces, frame for table plan, invites designed but not printed yet, hair and make-up trial booked, diet plan - two stone lost.
Yet to sort...print invites, personalised converse trainers for evening, flip flops to give away, baskets for flip flops and confetti, get confetti petals, arrange OoS and design OoS, favours contents and their boxes with tags, place names, design table plan, bridesmaid dress, flower girl dresses, teddies in place of flowers for flower girls, men's suits, wedding rings for us both, accessories for me and bridesmaid, gifts for everyone, diet plan - to loose another two stone.
I understand this. We're not having a theme as such so I don't have that to think about. Probably the opposite, infact. I worry everything will look a bit random and like a mismatch!
We've booked the venue, hotels, sorted videographer and photographer (family friends), ordered (silk) bouquets, bought table decorations, bought my dress and ordered shoes to try when I go for dress fitting, bought my jewelry and tiara, bought gifts for the ushers and best man, put in the cake order with OH's work colleague and yesterday bought the bridesmaid dresses! It seems like a lot but there's loads more to do....
I don't feel like we've done a lot, but did quite a few things last year:
Booked venue (same place all day), booked bedrooms at venue, booked registrar, given notice, booked photographer, got bridesmaid dresses, OH has sorted out what suits to hire but still need to get measurements.
To do: my dress (getting a high street one so no time pressure), choose menus (venue should have new menus ready at end of Jan), sort out cake (getting M&S one so no rush), book DJ, sort our hair, buy new make up, save money to pay for all of the above!
It sounds like everyone is doing well! I'm seeing a lady about flowers, centre pieces & chair covers tonight! I'm also going to my venue tomorrow to meet the new events co-ordinator & run through my booking. Soooo excited!
I would love to see flashes of all your ideas/themes ladies. I'll post some pics later from home
September 13th for us! So far have got sorted: venue (same place all day), registrar, rings, florist, photographer, cake, centrepieces, my dress, my shoes, honeymoon booked, invitations, info cards and RSVPs, DJ, caterers and I have a provisional booking with a hairdresser. He's got his stag do booked, and the location for my hen has been decided so just stressing chasing people for money so it can actually be booked!
I thought that I'd pretty much done it all but when I sat down and thought about it today I realised there is still a ridiculous amount of stuff to do! Starting to feel a little overwhelmed - anyone else??
Have you all got wedding insurance? That's something else that H2B keeps bringing up!
Before Christmas I felt all calm because I could think well its not til next year, but now that its this year I feel a little neurotic! Haha.
I was the same when I sat down with my Sis last Friday & sorted through everything & wrote lists! Once the excitement died down a bit I felt a bit anxious about all that's left to do!
Yes I have sorted my insurance. It was only £28 for very decent cover. I think the company was called ESL but I'm not 100% sure!
I'm 6th Sept too! havent done much, booked church & venue, got bridesmaids dresses, been dress shopping for me but not found 'the one' yet. Trying to find a band at the mo! Meeting a photographer next week (friends dad) and doing my own flowers :-)
Ooh some brides with the same date!! Just under 8months for us! Finally picked a colour theme after finding gorgeous dresses in dusky pink. Anyone on any fb groups, I joined one recently found it quite handy but all the dates are very separate so wouldn't mind a September one too x
I generally email my Wedding Co-ordinator but she answers the phone most times I ring! How did your hair go?
I found my florist at a Wedding Fayre at our venue. She came round last week & OMG she's amazing! She was so helpful & passionate & interested. She's also helping me with decorations for the top table, cake table & post box table as well as doing part of my centre pieces & all my flowers. She's doing a Wedding Fayre on Sunday & is using the flowers she's exhibiting to make up samples of everything I'm having on my Wedding day! I'm meeting her at my venue on Tuesday to look at them & can't wait!
I have also sorted my invitations & booked an appointment to give Notice of Marriage
Sounds like we're all getting there! When are your Hen do's and whats the plan! We are going to Reims in France in June, I chose the location and the rest is up to the my MOH and 2 bridesmaids. SO excited :-)
