    Hello,

Were getting married 30th August- so pretty close to September and planning to send out invites end of March, basically giving people a month to rsvp, then allow another month to chase the slowby's and then should be plenty of time to give final numbers to caterers etc...

    Hope this helps ?

    Hi,

I'm planning to send mine out at the end of March too for my wedding on 1st September (if they are ready by then!).

I know it's usual to send them out 4 months before, but I don't think it would be too early to send them out now for September, especially if they're ready to go!

I'd say between now and end of May. Better to be earlier than late!

I'm getting married on the 22 September and my aim is to get the invites out as soon as they are ready. Ideally this will be around the middle of April but will probably be later knowing me!

I don't think I'll send mine till June - my stationer said to me (and it sounded wise so will do it) not to give them too long to reply by else they forget - much better to say send out begining of June and ask for a reply by the end of June so they dont forget.... but I'm just going to put please reply by the end of the month so that i can send out more invites if we get refusals lol

We're 8th Sept and I'm not sending mine out until June.

Day invites out by beginning of June with RSVP of end of June and then evening/additional day invited (if needed) out beginning of July with RSVP end of July. Gives me an additional 2 weeks to chase then before I need to let venue know numbers!

I don't want to send mine too early as everyone knows when the wedding is and I mostly know whether people are coming or not already, invites are mainly 'housekeeping' but some of our guests don't seem to 'bothered' at the moment because 'it's ages away' (to them anyway!) So nearer the time should make it more 'real' then! If that makes sense?!

I'm getting married on 22nd September and I have sent mine and already getting replies. Most will think this is to early but with family working at the Olympics and taking late holiday due to the Olympics I wanted them sent as early as possible. So I think send them when you are ready to.

I sent our day invites out this week, I am in the middle of a panic because I've had 8 family members tell me they can't come (due to another family wedding abroad). I'm trying to tell myself i'm being silly becuase there were 63 sent and wouldn't mind if we had closer to 50 (moneywise).

I was planning on sending the evening invites out 3 months before which is the end of June but may do that begining of June.

ESW I'm 22/09 as well and mine were sent end of January, have invited 95 and had just under 50 confirmed already.

Also we have lots of people coming from Greece and out of town so most of flights and things had to be booked quick.

Also I didnt put an RSVP date on mine as I figure I'll just start chasing up when I think its time!

    lol

Am I sending my invites too late? Everyone seems to be sending WAY earlier than me and I'm a beginning of September bride! What's everyone's reasons behind their choice? Did you send STDs?

I'm glad it's not just me getting a little freaked out with how organised the other September brides are!

We sent our Save the Days out with the Christmas cards in December, so the people we are inviting know the date. I haven't made the invites yet as I didn't want to do them until we had sorted out the Bridesmaids dresses and the colour scheme (going BM shopping on Saturday). Hopefully we will finish them in April, i was thinking of sending them out the beginning of May, RSVP for beginning of June.

Yay! I have some date twins (or does that make us quins - not sure).

Anyway, to answer the question, we had originally intended to send ours out mid May with RSVP by mid July. Have recently been having a rethink because we've been made aware of a couple of people who are unlikely to attend (due to holidays) but who have yet to inform us themselves (despite a save the date valentines card going out weeks ago). Some awkward family politics afoot!

We want to give ourselves time/space to adjust the lists (and potentially upgrade people early) and avoid any last minute nightmares (where possible). Also, as it's out of county, some people will need to sort accommodation.

So hard to know though isn't it?

It's not that I'm not organised! I'm very organised in life and with the wedding planning and I'm ahead of schedule, it's just I don't see the need to send them that early. My day invites are going out for the 1st of June now with RSVP by 25th and then Evening invites/bumped day invites will go out 1st July (or sooner if all RSVPs back) with a RSVP of 23rd July. This still then gives me 5 weeks (more if people RSVP at the beginning of the time slot) to adjust numbers with extra invites etc before I have to give final numbers to venue!

I want it to seem more 'real' to my guests when they get their invites rather than it being for something that's still 6 months away!

I am only sending mine out early, because our wedding is on a friday, so people will need plenty of notice to get the time off work/school etc. I was going to send them out 6 weeks before, but having been told that that is far too late, I decided as soon as OH confirms his BM we can go ahead and send them Smiley smile
