September 2012 brides, How are we all doing?

Hi, i am an 8th sept bride!!

my invites came last week, just on with the flowers, having silk ones, bridesmaids dresses ordered from ebay..just wedding rings left to do...

Oooh i best get a move on....

made an appointment for our wedding rings, starting to look at bridesmaid dresses (found some really nice dresses at £195 each tho), got a week off in feb so gonna look at flowers, chair covers, dj etc then

and invitations im finding it hard as there so expensive and don't wana spend a fortune on them...any ideas???

I got my 6 bridesmaids dresses from ebay, £44 each and they are fab

and i also got my invites form ebay, £36 for 40 day and 50 evening invites from a company called creative designs

I have infact used ebay for nearly all our wedding purchases and have saved so much, guest book was £9, table crystals, cake boxes, butterfly top bubbles, favour bags...

got to save money on things...weddings are not cheap, but who says you have to spend a fortune...

I was the same as you when i got married- i paled at the cost of invitations!

I found a gorgeous card which was blank inside and bought what i needed( the shop ordered them in for me and if you are good at haggling you might be able to get a small discount. I'm not good at haggling but i only paid £1.00 each anyway!)

I then bought some pearlised and some metallic paper and made the inserts myself on the computer( i think you can buy ready made inserts as well)

They looked great and didnt cost the earth! ?

Cupcakes tried and tested & deposit paid

Centerpieces bought and paid for

Entertainers / DJ booked - awaiting contract

Bar booked - awaiting paperwork and yet to pay deposit

So far we dont have;

Dress!

Grooms outfit

Bridesmaids, page boys and Best man's attire

EVERYTHING ELSE!!!!

Hi I'm 22nd September we've done

Venue (pack inc cake/chair covers/sashes/candelarbaras & DJ), registrar (notice of marriage), My Dress, Adult BM's dresses, Little BM's well got them but one does not fit!, discountiuned line as well so may have to start again!, Jewelery, my shoes, veil, tiara.

To do: TOG, Rings, mens suits, buy flowers, make invites and I'm sure I've missed something.

May now be having a week honeymoon so need to look into this!

I'm 1st September - getting closer now! argh!

We're pretty much done apart from suits, rings, cake & bridesmaid dresses xx

Hi ... I am getting married on 29th September and it looks like I better get a bit of a move on!

The venue is booked as is the Registrar and photographer.

I did order two BM dresses from bhs but they need to go back as they didn't suit my BMs. A shopping trip is needed to see what dress suits them both.

I also went to try on dresses on Saturday but came away really disheartened. I am nearly 6 foot and a lot of the dresses were short on me, especially if I wear heals. The helpful suggestion was to wear flats but I walk differently in flats ... I tend to stomp more and I'm not sure I want to stomp down the aisle!!!

Next job is to sort out flowers and try lots more dresses on!!!!

Only 8 months to go!

I am too a Sept 2012 bride to be.. we are getting married 26th in Cyprus... All coming round very quick isnt it, cant believe we booked it over 7 months ago, and under 8 to go now!

My dress is sorted, fittings not till July due to diet and my sized keeps changing (in the right direction thank goodness!)Bridesmaids dresses now sorted, we have a coral colour, although i am now struggling to find table decorations that i can take to cyprus that are Coral? Any ideas??

H2B to sort his suits... probably later in the or when he sees something he likes.. alot of people abroad where trousers, shirt and waist coat due to the heat and it looks ok? Whats everyones thoughts?

I know a few people who have ordered dresses from Ebay, you can send them your measurements and they make them to you, so your height would be taken into account, and some generally you pay under £100 for so may be worth a go, everyone i know who has tried it is pleased with it, just keep in constant contact with the seller. Maybe try lots on in shops and then know what style you want and try ebay from there?
