September 2014 brides!

I keep being told the same but I can't help doing things!

We have booked the venue/registrar, booked the TOG & VOG, booked the DJ/Wedding singer and I booked my hair & make-up (only because I saw her at a fayre and the were offering a good deal if you booked that weekend).

I am wanting to do save the dates and invitation myself - so will give them a go. I am pleased its under 18 months to go now tho.

What date in Sept are you? I'm the 6th xx

Hooray! I'm 20th Sept 14. So far we have booked and paid deposits for:

Church

Reception venue

Photographer

Caterer

DJ

Transport

We've also decided on the colour scheme, centrepieces, favours and other little decoration-y bits. I'm going dress shopping in 6 weeks and I CAN'T WAIT!!

Wow this makes me feel like I've hardly done anything! Even at the wedding fayres everyone was shocked how far away it is!Im the 6th sept too!

We have booked Venue and florist. Almost booked cake (cup cakes). Meeting with photographer on Friday so hopefully will get that booked too. Start dress shopping in May. Other than that, I don't know what to do! 12th September is my date. X

I am so glad I have found this thread. I got engaged last weekend and me and OH have chosen either 20th Sep 2014 or 27th Sep. I have been organising viewings of venues and been trying to tell OH that 15 months really isn't that long to plan everything. I am going to show him this thread and see how far behind we are

Hi, I'm another September 2014 bride We're getting married on the 13th.

So far we've got the venue, registrar, photographer, hairdresser and cake sorted. Still feel like there's so much to do!

Just to say, we started booking things for our July 2014 wedding in March 2012! ?

I don't think that was too early as one venue was already booked for our date and a couple of the togs were too!! You've still got plenty of time to get everything sorted though ? I think about a year before is when it's more important to get good deals booked etc. but it annoys me when suppliers won't even let you book so far in advance!

Hello all September 2014 brides! We have booked a venue package, which includes flower centre pieces, DJ, drinks, and food And we've booked the registar.

I have nearly found a photographer, but haven't arranged a meeting yet. I think thats it! Ooo, we went to browse rings last week, but it was just to get an idea. I have discovered I prefer mens rings! lol.

I have also been wedding dress shopping, but that was more because I was too excited not to! (And they had a designer day of Maggie dresses in a shop 5 mins from me!) I'm giving it a break for a bit now. (The wedding dress shopping)

Our date is the 25th Sep 2014.

I am glad you have been dress shopping I have made an appointment for 20th April but was worried it was too early. I wasn't excited about my dress but now I have my shoes and after seeing pics of everyone elses dress I really want to find mine. Fingers crossed it will soon be here for us all! ?

Like a lot of people have said, it's never to early to start looking! I did feel a bit self conscious at first, but you soon settle into it and its brilliant trying on different dresses and finding your style! Good luck and I hope you find it! Flash if you do, but don't worry if you don't find it on the 20th. That's the best thing about looking early, we aren't rushed or stressed! x

p.s. your time scales are similar to mine! I met OH 25/03/2005, got engaged 31/12/2012 and getting married 25/09/2014! Hehe.

Has anybody started looking at honeymoons? I'm trying to find prices for Oct 2014 but most websites don't seem to go that far into next year.

We're thinking Mexico or Bahamas, where does anybody else plan on going? Does anyone have any recommendations?

I think prices for Florida on Virgin Holidays are out for October 2014. We're planning on going Las Vegas and I just keep doing rough prices using this years prices for the same period.

We haven't booked it yet but know we are going to Florida ?.

I think you can only book flights 11 months in advance, that's what we were told when we went to a travel agents for a quote x

The travel agents are fobbing you off ? just checked again and Virgin Holidays are letting me book a holiday (inc. flights) for October 2014 for Florida, I don't know why it's different to other destinations though. I imagine they can do it so far in advance because they are the flight operator too with their package holidays.

The travel agents probably know Virgin have them up early & didn't want you to book with them!!! I'm looking forward to getting ours booked ?

Haha! Yeah, it did feel like that! I gave enough hints though after it nearly got to the 8th year! lol. And then it happened when I was honestly least expecting it!!

Dress shopping is fun, so enjoy it, and have a great time Also, because its over a year away, and you feel like you found the one, then you can afford to go away and try a few more shops/different dresses, and not worry about time scales too much! Yay! I'm quite indecisive too, I tried 2 dresses on a while back, 1 was tight fitting, and the other is A line, and because they look so different, I can't decide. But, that was a while ago, I've given it a break for now, and when I go back again, I'll hopefully have a fresh perspective. Other peoples opinions help as well. Don't worry if you can't decide. You have plenty of time at the mo, to have a stress free and fun day, and you might surprise yourself, and LOVE the first one

We are the 27th

We have the venue and photographer booked and we have spoken with the Vicar. I have also bought Bridesmaid dresses! We don't have a choice of caterer with the venue so that is one less thing to look into!

I am hoping I can leave the rest of the details until later this year but keep finding myself looking at things...

I was quite excited to find this. I think everyone at work is probaby fed up of me going on about weddings now!

We booked our reception and church last year, but I haven't allowed myself to do anything else until I finished my distance learning degree. Now that's out of the way I'm so excited to get on with everything else. What would you suggest doing next? I'm thinking maybe the photographer and getting save the date cards sent out.

We're going for the 13th of September as 13 is actually a lucky number for us!

We have just booked 6th September 2014!

photographer has let us down so found another one......been to view rings.......booked ice cream van.......booked various dress appointments.......picked cake......makeup and hair are on standby......delegated decorating to family members......AND had an extra tasting at the venue this week.....must be my OCD tendencys kicking helping me be so organised!

You will be fine dress shopping. I was really nervous but soon it excited especially when I found my dress. Now I'm a bit upset I can't go anymore lol x

I am glad it's not just me who is super organised. If I could lose 4 stone an win the lottery I would be ok marrying this Sept 6th not next! Only got rings, cake and flowers left to pick lol x

Ladies. Have you asked your BM's to be your BM's yet. I am only having 1, my 12 year old niece and was going to ask her this September but I've found her dress and really want her to try it on. Do you think I'm best waiting or should I just ask her (don't want to get her to excited when its still ages away). I hate being so impatient lol.

i am getting married on 13th September and have booked the venue and caterers. I have also ended up buying the dress and centrepieces after seeing all my dream ones in the sale! Bit worried I may regret it but so happy with them.

Would really like to start making some bits too but its so hard when its so far away. Think I am going to get bridesmaid dresses next as one of them is off to Oz in August so want her to be able to choose. So once the dresses are bought, will confirm the colour scheme.

I am sure all the time will fly by!
