September 2015 brides

mustard_mitt, 9 June, 2014 at 14:25 Posted on Planning 0 287

I know there's a few of us getting hitched in September 2015, so this thread is for us!

We're getting married on 12th September at a gorgeous country venue in Warwickshire. So far we have the venue, registrar & photographer booked. I'm ordering the STDs (a digital download from Etsy) to get printed soon but otherwise I plan to chill out a bit til next year! ? We're planning a unique, unthemed, uncolour-themed day which celebrates us, our loves and our hobbies.

For example; I recently ordered some old Marvel comic books from eBay, which I'm hoping to turn into some very retro bunting!

Tell us about your September wedding plans....

    Date Twin Smiley laugh

We're getting married at the House Meadow in Kent. I *think* we've got everything booked now including our amazing tipis, which i'm so excited about.

We're also going down the no colour scheme route but it's a fairly heavily themed wedding! (Game of Thrones)

Our dogs will be there as guests of honour and we've got a gormet burger van for food during the day, BBQ & dessert table in the evening.

Currently toying with the idea of hiring bumper cars as a bit of an alternative to a first dance.

It's creeping up slowly but surely ?

Awesome wedding ideas date twin! I love your Game of Thrones theme. I too am a fan, and we'll have GoT influences on the day (I'm still contemplating using the Rains of Castamere as ceremonial music!) but it won't be themed as such. It'll include everything we love; Marvel comics, sci-fi, GoT, Firefly, anime, geek references.... pretty much everything!

Bumper cars is a great idea for a first dance. Looking forward to seeing more of your day as we move forward!

We're getting married in September 2015 too! Literally just booked the date this morning ?

That's all we've done so far, book the venue and registrar. I have quotes for hair and make up artist - i really want a professional to do my make up, I don't wear much at all, if any, and would be useless on the day! Hoping to have a family friend make our cake, we want something fairly classic and simple, and I'm really looking forward to making the favours, invites, etc. My friends are all rather creative and we'll make it a girlie afternoon or 2.

Loving the bunting and bumper cars ideas! We're toying with the idea of a photobooth but are completely undecided on that. Have you all started looking for your dress? x

No, I'm kinda dreading it to be honest. I'm not a very girly girl and I hate dress shopping at the best of times. I'm more of a see-one-buy-one-done! shopper, rather than a try-them-all-on shopper - I hate changing rooms!

Saying that I've seen some nice designs online, but I do want something a bit different, so.... we'll cross that bridge as and when!

Have thought about that, but depends on cost really! Someone in Kenilworth could do a bespoke dress for a grand, which I think is a bit excessive for a one-day-only item....

The other idea is buy a cheap high street dress and get it customised....

Hopefully in the next month or so. I know it's not traditional to send them more than 12 months beforehand, but I just want to get in there and get them done - one less thing to worry about!

    Hi Ladies,

    I am also 12th September 2015. I can't wait!!

I have booked our reception venue and photographer. I have chosen my bm's and we're having purple and teal as our colours. we're not having a theme, just bits that mean a lot to us, like, I was dressed as a penguin when h2b proposed, so we're having penguin cake toppers.

my best friend is a make up artist, brother works for Toni and Guy and h2b's cousin makes amazing cakes, so those bits are sorted.

I'm going to try on a wedding dress tomorrow, which I found on a facebook site for £150 and it looks perfect. I'm the same as the rest of you, was absolutely dreading going dress shopping, fingers crossed, tomorrow goes well enough that I won't have to endure it!!

We're having a hog roast in place fo a traditional wedding breakfast and then a buffet in the evening and a DJ. all of this is booked with our venue (the hire of which is £150!)

Both H2B and I turn 30 next year and will hopefully buy our first house, so our wedding is on a strict £5k budget, I think I might just do it!!!

What time are you all getting Married? xx

We chose 1.30 and ideally we'll have the ceremony outside under a pagoda, but if the weather turns we can have it inside.

You're very organised nearly30! But yes, of course you can do it! Good luck with it, and with the house buying. We bought ours last year as a renovation project, so spent the first three months of this year with builders, plumbers, electricians etc and moved in March. It's still not completely finished but we needed to get going on wedding planning. It's not easy but it's worth it!

We're thinking 1:30 or 2pm for our ceremony too. I know how fast the day whizzes by so I want to make the most of it, but at the same time I don't want too much of an early start with hair and make up as there will be 4/5 of us. Eeep!

My SIL is a hair and makeup artist, so she'll do all that. To be honest I envisaged a minimalist style for us all in that respect, no fancy up-dos and plastered on make up, just a fresh faced look with a simple hair style to suit, so hopefully it won't take her long....??

I have no idea how long stuff like this takes.... I don't wear a lot of makeup usually!

Hi ladies, we're getting married on Sept 5 2015. Its a church wedding in OH's local village church followed by a formal wedding breakfast at a local masonic lodge.

We are having shades of pink as our colour theme with my bridesmaids in hot pink with ivory sashes. For the reception we have got the starlit backdrops, a sweet buffet, a candyfloss stand for the kids. Our cakes are a 3 tier white fruit cake with pink ribbon and pink butterflies "landing" all over it and also a 6tier cupcake tower in the same design.

I cant decidebetween two dresses mori lee 2614. And pronovias liceria.

Dont really know what else to say but thats us so far x

They are both beautiful dresses but I have to say for me personally that the Pronovias Liceria is especially lovely. Just my opinion though, they're both stunning.

I love the sparkle on the pronovias but I keep going back to the pics of the mori lee one. It looks awful on the model but on a real (normal sized) person it is gorgeous. I cant flash cos i'm on my phone but I have pics of me In both.

Hi ladies, Im planning to get married the 18th September *hopefully* That will mark our 5th year together. Just starting planning so haven't decided on or looked at any venues yet! Unsure of budget either, we are hoping to keep the cost low so definitely will be shopping around for the best deals.

I was thinking of cutting out the wedding breakast by having the wedding a little later in the day but dont want it too late as want to have a 'full' day to enjoy too! if we do it early it means people will be hungry so not sure what to do??

    Hi guys,

I have been snooping on these forums for a while now and saw this thread and knew I had to reply for my first post! I'm getting married the first week in September 2015, having ceremony at St Paul's Church in St Paul's Square Birmingham and then on to the Botanical Gardens for the reception.

Reading some of your posts you are super organised, so far I have only booked church, venue and band - think I need to get moving a bit!

    Hi Rachel, welcome!

You're doing just fine, there's no rush! I think it's easy to get caught up in it all without realising we have 15 months to go and we don't need to panic! As long as the major stuff (ie venue, church/registrar, photographer) is sorted, anything else at this stage is a Brucie Bonus!

I have literally done nothing! Ive emailed a few possible venues but need to view them to get a better idea of the costs. I want to do it cheaper the better-but not so that it looks 'too' cheap if that makes sense? x

The cheaper the better - I think that's everyone's mantra! I think there are loads of reasonably priced venues out there, but you're right, you need to visit to be sure it's for you, because it's not always about cost, for us it came down to how flexible the venue were when it came to non-standard items, external suppliers etc....

Our venue is a masonic lodge and they do a wedding package for 50 people including dj 3 course meal and evening buffet for 1150 so dont be afraid to look at different types of venue.

What colours/ themes has everyone got?
