September brides, 6 months - How are we getting on?

soon2bsummers, 13 March, 2009 at 17:14 Posted on Planning 0 2

I seem to have had a bit of a spurt on this week I have -

Had my final dress fitting, Ordered (and posted pics of) my flowers, had a sucessful visit to Hobbycraft where I bought my canvas' for the table numbers and table plan and also bought an adorable little basket for my daughter to carry. Have also had a first attempt at icing my mini cakes, will let you know how I get on?

What is everyone else up to at the moment?

Sarah xx

    Hey Sarah,

Bit of a lull for me at the moment.

We are looking at evening entertainment and getting quotes, but that's about it.

I'm going to start making invites soon, that might spur me on!

It's a bit scary that there's only 6 months to go, and we're already 3 months into the year!!

My dress is all altered and hanging at PILs house, shoes done, underwear done, tiara and veil. WIll start thinking about jewellery soon.

The sheer cost of it all is scaring me a bit too. We're actively saving and have been since we got engaged, but it's all so EXPENSIVE!! And the little things sure add-up!

    Looking forward to cake pics!

    Hi Ali,

I was in a bit of a lull too up until a couple of weeks ago but now an ticking things off left, right and centre!

What sort of entertainment are you looking at?

Invitations are something I do need to get on move on with though. I really wanted to make them myself but a friend of ours is getting them done for us for a wedding gift, so cant complain!

Am not looking forward to the 3 month mark as that's when we have to start paying the venue. Everything up until now has been peanuts in comparison!!

I'm stuggling to keep the pace up but not many more things with a looming deadline.

I can't beleive you've all had fittings for your dress already, mine doesn't even come in to the shop until the end of June!

At the moment I'm finalising BM dresses, we know the style I tried to persuade them to go for a slightly different colour but only managed to persuade one out of three, so original colours it is. Will order them next week.

I'm hopefully visiting a few florists this weekend. I've been meaning to call them all week but only getting round to it now so leaving lots of answerphone messages.

    Other things on my to sort out in March list are;

    * To at least make a start on the invitations, I've bought all the supllies now and have a prottype I just ned to make 100 of them now!

    * To sort out a gift list as need that info for the additional info pack. Talking of which, is anyone using marriagegiftlist.com?

    * Book honeymoon, but this is h2b's job so I just read what he finds out and say yay or nay (easy peasy)

I'm glad that most big things are sorted now, because it means I can think about things other than bl**dy weddings for a change!

ETA - Also meeting the co-ordinator at the venue on Sunday.
