Settle an argument...

ForTheLoveOfMrsBrown, 19 November, 2013 at 10:23 Posted on Off Topic Posts 0 110

There are no prizes for the quickest or any right answers. This is a simple survey. So NO Googling please. The answer options are YES or NO. No descriptions or discussion - that might influence other answers.

Do you know what a quoit/quoits is/are? Precise definitions not necessary; working knowledge sufficient.

Last night, I had cause to mention the game of quoits. Boy was in pieces laughing, as "quoits" is pronounced how he would say "coats", and a "game of coats" tickled him (and simultaneously appealed to his Monty Pythonesque Yorkshire roots of being so poor that games had to made with coats).

I insist that it is fairly common knowledge. He insists it is bizarrely esoteric.

He told me to ask the Internet.

He didn't warn me that the God of Quoityness might trample over the survey Smiley winking

I am the GOD OF QUOITYNESS.

    Nah, Quoits are not gender-specific.

Bumble off to MN and ask them. Smiley winking

And I have good reason to assume that they might get the premise of the survey why? My pilot study hasn't gone as planned, has it?
