Shades of Ivory

Serafina, 8 June, 2009 at 18:32 Posted on Planning 0 9

Does it REALLY matter if dress, shoes, accessories etc etc are different shades of ivory?

I've been going around with the swatch of fabric from my dress frantically matching everything up, but am starting to think it might actually be nice to have some variety in shades!

What are your opinions?

I don't think it matters. My dress is a darker shade of ivory but my shoes are quite light. They still go well together.

I think it's probably one of those things nobody would notice unless they were specifically looking for it.

Ah thanks, I've found a few things and thought 'nope, cant have that, its the 'wrong' ivory...'. I think it must just be the Bridezilla coming out in me! I'm sure noone at the wedding is going to notice, let alone care, I wish they hadn't given me a bit of dress fabric now!

I agree, I think if you try to match it exactly you'll go crazy!

Reading your dilemma, I'm maybe glad I couldn't get hold of a bit of fabric, it would probably turn me into bridezilla too!!

I was half thinking of blue shoes though - 'something blue'......

My pal had pink shoes on her wedding day which were really nice!

I'd like bright shoes too, but I wouldn't want them to show when I walked- just in a few photos. My dress is quite slim fitting and I'm not wearing a hoop/petticoat so I'm not sure whether they would show with it..

Yeah, I was thinking it'd be nice to have them to show off when I wanted to and for some photos, but not when I'm walking. Maybe with the slim fitting dress ivory (whatever shade you fancy!) would be better.

There are so many lovely shoes to pick from it makes it difficult. In fact, there is so much of EVERYTHING to pick from!

I would definately say don't get too stressed out about the shades matching though, cos as you say - no-one's going to be looking that closely anyway
