    I'm just about to print my menus off so if anyone spots any mistakes on the following please let me know. We also have a veg dish.

    Golden Lentil & Vegetable Soup

    Fantail of sweet seasonal melon

    served with a forest berry compote and coulis

    God I hate posts like this as they make me so damn hungry! Off to make another Cambridge diet shake me thinks!

    We decided not to have choices just a set menu.

    Starter - Leek and Potato soup

    Main - Roast chicken Dinner served with seasonal veg and roast and new potatos

    Dessert - Profiteroles!! YUM YUM

    We had

    Pate or Spinach Roulade

    Andalucian Lamb Shank or Chicken and Leek Pie or Creamy Vegetable Casserole

    Catalan Lemon Tart with cream or Sticky Toffee Pudding with Cinnamon Ice Cream

    It all looked gorgeous but on the day I couldn't eat a thing. Would love to have it now though!

    Starter: Millefeuille of mozzarella, sweet potato and courgette with basil oil.

    Main Course: Chicken supreme with lime, grapes and tarragon crème fraiche

    Vegetarian option: Mediterranean vegetable Tarte Tartin with sautéed spinach and red onion chutney

    Dessert: Summer pudding with strawberries and clotted cream.

    Mmmmm...too close to lunchtime to be talking about food...making me all hungry!!!

    This isn't set in stone but so far we have - hopefully we will have a scottish/english option on each:

    starter:

    Cullen skink

    A.N Other - can't decide yet

    Main:

    steak pie and chips (H2B's fav meal)

    Roast chicken with possibly haggis on the side

    Dessert:

    Cheesecake

    sticky toffee or profiteroles

    tea/coffee and tablet

    Evening Buffet

    Bacon rolls

    Wedding cake

    I'm doing the cambridge diet which consists of soups/shakes etc! That'll teach me for ordering my wedding dress two sizes too small!!

    I got married in October - I guess the time of year will make a difference to what you have

    Starter - trio of hot smoked salmon, mackerel & tuna (mushroom paté for veggies)

    Main - venison casserole with roasted winter veg (bean casserole for veggies)

    Dessert - lemon & lime tart with a raspberry coulis

    It was lovely. I struggled to eat it all, but made a jolly good effort. I didn't get round to having cake & coffee afterwards

    In the evening we had a selection of fantastic cheese & home made patés which went down a treat ?

    Warmed sweet pepper and parmesa tart with rocket salad

    Chicken breast stuffed with goats cheese and red onion, smoked bacon mash and baby leek and turned carrot served with a tarragon sauce
    Veggie option of stir fried oriental vagetables in a spiced ginger sauce with cashew nuts and garlic sesame noodles and pickled pink ginger petals

    Sticky Toffee pudding with caramel ice cream and butterscotch sauce

    OH PG did you print yours out yet???????? Its just a wee niggle of mine that some of your choices have capital letters and some dont..... the starter is an example. My example could be Lentil Soup then fan of melon. Whereas it looks nice to have Fan of Melon. if you get my drift......i'll mail you in a bit with this message Smiley smile

    anyhoo our guests have choices to make prior to the wedding so they are getting...

    • Highland Game Pate with a hint of Malt Whisky
    • Smoked Salmon and Buckwheat Pancake Terrine with Sweet and Sour Cucumber.

    • Roast Ribeye of Scottish Beef with Yorkshire Pudding, Roasted Vegetables and Beef Jus
    • Breast of Chicken with Haggis served with a Malt Whisky and Thyme sauce.

    • Strawberries and Cream (we asked for this one)
    • Plum Tart with Vanilla Ice Cream
    Blackberry and Lemon Trifle

    Chicken liver parfait with Grape & Apple Chutney,

    Spiced Cinnamon and Garden shoots & leaves

    (Veg: Stilton & Leek Tart, Pickled Cucumber)

    Main

    Tagine of Moroccan spiced Lamb with Apricots

    and Cous Cous

    Served with

    a platter of Tomato Salad with Pumpkin Seeds

    & Pine Kernals.

    ( Vegetarian Option:

    Dessert Aubergine Tagine)

    Ginger Sponge Pudding, star anise & orange

    Crème Anglaise

    Ours is:

    Starter: Chicken Liver pate with oatcakes and red onion chutney (Veg- goats cheese and pine nut salad)

    Main: Chicken breast stuffed with haggis and a whisky cafe au lait sauce or vegetarian haggis both served with seasonal vegetables and potatoes

    Dessert: Cranachan with shortbread lovehearts

    In the evening we are having sausage and bacon rolls

    I'm starving!!!

    Brie salad

    then

    Roast beef with all the trimmings

    Veggie: some sort of gnocchi dish IIRC (chosen by one of my veggie friends)

    Poached pears, vanilla bean ice cream and chocolate sauce

    We finalised our menu last night so I can join in now!

    There will be a slate of mixed starters on each table (think sit-down canapes) which will be:

    Spinach & Goats Cheese Tarlet

    Tiger Prawn, Creme Fraiche and Chilli Jam

    Asian Style Smoked Salmon Tartlets

    Chicken Satay

    Home Made Duck Spring Rolls

    Lamb Kofta with Spicy Tomato Sauce

    Then main course will be a BBQ with:

    Spicy Jamaican Jerk Chicken

    Five Spice & Honey Swordfish

    Butterfly Leg of Lamb with Garlic, Lemon & Rosemary

    Rump Steaks with Olive Oil, Garlic & Thyme

    with these salads:

    Mixed Leaves

    Classic Potato Salad

    Coleslaw

    Couscous & Roasted Vegetables

    Then dessert will be our wedding cake (chocolate) which will be served with a mixed berry compote and vanilla cream, followed by coffee.

    Evening buffet will be:

    A selection of sandwiches (can't be bothered to type them all out!)

    Houmus & Crudites

    Cheese board

    Smoked Salmon and Cream Cheese Roulade

    Roasted Pepper and Goats Cheese Terrine

    Chicken Liver and Cognac Pate

    Home Made Pork and Apple Pie

    Starter

    A Salad of Vine Tomato , Mozzarella & Sweet Basil topped with Proscuitto

    (adapted to tomato and mozzarella salad for veggies)

    Main:

    Glazed Gressingham Duck Breasts with Grilled Figs Duck Breasts cooked medium , sliced & laced with a Syrup of Honey ,Orange , Chilli , Coriander & Star Anise Topped with Grilled Figs.

    Have asked the caterers to suggest an easy-to-do and popular option for the vegetarians.

    For pudding:

    A Tower of Fresh Summer Berries layered with Shortbread & Clotted Cream.

    Why on earth has it all come out different sized ... ??
