All I know is that it's going to be in Liverpool, BM's are sorting the rest when the time comes. Have asked if we can do something during the day, like a dance class or cocktail lesson.

We are going to Disneyland Paris, very excited!

A weekend at Alton towers would be great especially if your hens are thrillseekers like mine lol!

I've had 3 of my 5 so far... (I live abroad and have a wide reaching set of family and friends...)

First was a cocktail masterclass for 8 UK based friends at a bar in Liverpool (FYI Sarahmarie, it was Revolution in the Albert Dock for 40quid a head including a 3 course meal - ask for Luke, it was ace!)

Second was a sedate afternoon at a spa with my mum and sister

Third was pizza and wine night at a restaurant in South Wales with my Welsh family and friends

Fourth will be a weekend in Muscat with my middle east based close friends

Fifth will be a sailor themed fancy dress all day brunch in Dubai with all my other middle east based friends

OH is getting a singular night out with the boys while I'm in Muscat

    I'm a lucky hen!

I took 19 friends for the weekend and we went to www.carringtonhouse.net It is the MOST amazing house, it has a private nightclub in the basement with a kareoke machine and dressing up room, a hot tub, 10 GORGEOUS bedrooms, and a HUGE 22 seater table that was perfect for all sitting around in the evening playing Hen Games and drinking :-) All my Hens said it was best Hen Weekend they'd been on because we could do just exactly what we wanted all weekend, we pampered and partied all weekend with no worries about where to go or how to get home and best of all, no men!! haha xxx

In the afternoon we are going to have a girly afternoon tea/or a cake decorating class. Then in the evening a cocktail masterclass and a meal

I'm looking in to Brighton for the weekend.

Mainly coz it's not too far from where I and most my friends live (London/Herts). Plus the atmosphere there is usually good and therer's a fair amount of things that you can do... eg, cocktail classes, dreamboys show, bars, clubs etc etc.

Also, because I thought about going abroad but my hen weekend will be in Feb so it'll be cold everywhere anyway!!

This place looks amazing!! I really like this idea. Can I ask, do you HAVE to hire the caterers/dj etc or can you do your own food and play your own music etc

No not at all, you can have as much or as little as you want. We didn't have any of it, we just split the cost 20 ways and put in £10 each per night for all food and drink and it was plenty... I ordered all the food and drink online to be delivered directly to the house on the first afternoon and that was it. We made sure we got very easy food to prepare so no-one was strapped to the oven, and there are huge professional size ovens and fridge freezers in the house, so it was easier enough to cook for the 20 of us. The table is MUCH bigger than it looks in the pictures, and really was one of my great memories of the place... It was so nice us all being able to interact properly while we ate, drank and played games, and the kareoke in the night club was NEVER off!! lol

I can't recommend Carrington House highly enough, I had the best weekend ever there and me and my very closest friends intend to return next year with our partners for a real "coupley" weekend. :-)

You're very welcome, I had such a fantastic time I just know you would love it, you can't not! And trust me, the rooms and the decor is even wilder in the flesh than it looks, but it's utterly OTT and just fabulous. One warning though, it "sleeps 20" but really, there is one sofa bed which almost caught me out, luckily I have two utterly wonderful friends who didn't mind sharing that and sharing another bathroom, but in a ideal world I think you would take 17 girls and all have a proper bed :-)

    xxx

Prices are on the website, but it depends when you go. For us, it was £188.50 each for 20 of us and that is for Fri-Mon (you can only book 3 nights over the weekend) which considering ALL our food and drink was then another £30 each on top, I thought was really quite good for how amazing the house was. £218.50 for 3 nights, all inc - 2 nights in Sheffield for a Hen Do once ended up costing me £350 once we'd paid for a 4 star hotel, train ticket, had a posh meals out, paid £9 for a glass of wine in the hotel bar and £30 taxis from the hotel to the club, not to mention the mandatory fancy dress outfit and expensive nightclub drinks.

I really loved my Hen weekend in this house, and the house was even featured in Vogue don't you know lol :-) There's a sister property called Cliff Barns too, that didn't have the nightclub though which is why I didn't go for it, but for anyone wanting the same sort of thing but a little more chilled out, it looks really lovely.

    Xxx

Spa weekend, including afternoon tea and then later a Chinese meal...

not sure how to fit it all in, but thinking at least that way friends can pick/choose if they do the whole weekend, or parts of....

have to say though.....that Carrington House looks fabulous.

Yet another thing I hadn't thought of- I'm not having any bridesmaids, and since it's a bit tacky to throw your own, I probably won't be having one. Maybe just some drinks in a local bar??

Oh I love a good hen do. I'm off to my best friends in a few weeks & I am having to keep it secret. Which is the hardest thing in the world for me.....as I can't do secrets!!

Anyway....if anyone wants a fascinator making hen party.....I do these. Bride goes free and everyone comes away with a fascinator to wear :-)

All I know is that mine's at the end of August and it's in London - my bridesmaids are planning it all in secret! I trust them though, especially as two of them are yet to get married so they know that I can get revenge if required ;-)

Not at all!! I am arranging my own with very little input from BM and friends. I am sure bits and bobs will be arranged without me knowing, but I just wanted to be sure everyone is happy with the basic arrangements. Think about what you would like to do and invite people!

After to-ing and fro-ing between various ideas I finally sorted it! We are going to Chester Races Ladies' Day followed by a meal and then out clubbing. Hotel, massive fry-up and then home. I'm also a Winter Bride (Nov) but Hen do is last weekend in August.
