Share your irrational hates here

I've just been sent a "gift book" to review at work. It's a collection of quotes from famous people about getting through hard times. I fucking hate gift books - they give the rage. So for some reason do smoothies and even more so, smoothie makers.

Am I a loon? What do you irrationally hate?

Mushrooms. It's irrational because I have no idea what they taste like. And the saying 'pissed as a fart'. Grrrr.

Recently mine has been people who walk in cycle lanes, when the pavement/ track is divided into half for walkers, half for cyclists. I want to cycle into them. Even when the lanes are empty I still stick to the right one.

I don't think anyone has ever given me a gift book.

    Katie Perry.

I feel the rage just looking at a picture or her in the paper. I have to change channels if she comes on TV. I don't know why, her songs are okay, just something about that stupid simpering face of hers makes me want o deck her.

People who are smutty or 'a bit rum' - no you're not being terribly modern and open, you're behaving like a bawdy brothel worker in a badly made carry on film.

I also loathe people asking "do you know what I mean?" even after the most banal of statements

People calling other people 'love' <vomits in mouth>

    The smell of coffee

    The word lush

...actually I think I may just be a big bag of irrational hatred.

I hate it when people automatically say 'see you later' at thend of a conversation, even though you know they won't. A colleageu is always doing it, even with people she's never met and is never likley to. Maybe that's not soooooo irrational, after all!

People who know all the lyrics to songs at concerts. Smug bastards.

And massive blown up wedding photos transferred onto canvas. Why would you want to look at a huge picture of yourself?

Tom Hanks. Well more specifically his forehead. Can't watch any films with him in that have been made in the last few years as it really irritates me. I don't mind his forehead in his earlier films though. I can tolerate those. ?.

My irrational hate it people not understanding the meaning of the word irrational. I bet this thread is filled with replies of perfectly reasonable hates like people stopping in the street, standing on the left of escalators etc

Flybe. Firstly for charging me over £400 for 2 flights from Gatwick to the Isle of Man next week and secondly for having the bare faced cheek to stick £14 worth of charges on top of this for daring to use a credit card. I'm not sure that is entirely irrational though.

Although my hate is of this ilk, I stand by my opinion that wanting to run people over on my bike is irrational ?

Oil rigs, fecking hate them, make me feel sick even on the TV.

Slightly less irrational is the expression 24/7.

I think hatred of anything other than something that causes injury, deep suffering etc is irrational really. Your examples aren't rational - solutions are easy enough - not walking so closely behind people, scooting around those on escalators - it takes seconds. However, they are things that cause intense irritation bordering on hatred. Irrational, not rational.

Other than my brother in law worked on them years ago and he's a bit of a twunt, nothing springs to mind, just irrational. If I'm stressed I have nightmares about being stuck on one.

I think my hatred of these things might be verging on irrational but I really dislike the word "personally" when used directly before "I" - I means it is personal. I've suddenly noticed it everywhere (written and out loud).

And literally - David Cameron, I mean you. You went to Eton and Oxford, the best education money can buy and you still think the Labour party is literally tearing itself apart, do you?!
