Shaving

Becklarrr, 28 September, 2012 at 12:26 Posted on Off Topic Posts 0 12

I'm currently working with this lady and she is wearing a dress which stops about a hands width above the knee and is wearing no tights!

And we were just in a meeting where she was sat next to me and I noticed her legs were ridicously hairy as in not just a bit of stubble, full on hair! Same for her armpits, she put her hand up to ask a question and there was enough to plait!

She is 58, is it ok not to shave at this time in your life? It's not exactly old and if you are going to wear a summer dress that short you need to be shaving, don't you think!?!

True but this isn't the first time I've seen it and even my friend mentioned it the other week!

I couldn't let it grow that long, as soon as I have stubble it is gone!

If your waiting for a wax you pdon't wear short summer dresses tho.

when I went into labour I was straight in the shower for a shave before going to the hospital ha.

My mum is 58 next birthday and I can categorically say she isn't hairy.

She's also old school though - wouldn't dream of wearing a knee length skirt without some kind of hosiery.

It's got F*** all to do with age. I am appalled that you'd feel so ageist as to mention that!!

I don't think it has much to do with age to be honest. There was a girl who say next to me in one of our lectures. She had those high wasted hot pants and blue tights on. She looked nice but she had loads of hair poking through her tights all the way to her knee. Ever since I have been extra paranoid when wearing tights

I only shave my legs every few days as my hair is so fine you don't notice and if I shave every day it's sore. Underarms are every day without fail.

I'm undecided about this issue. My initial reaction is "urgh" but if I think about it then I don't see any problem with not de-hairing. What's it got to do with anyone except the person involved? It's definitely nothing to do with age.

I haven't shaved my legs for 3 weeks and I don't care! I'm 28. It's cold, I can't be bothered and H doesn't seem to mind so why should anyone else care? Granted, I'm not wearing mini-skirts but I have worn some nude tights recently and if you looked closely you would probably see a few of the hairs. If anyone felt they had the right to comment I'd ask why the felt the need to check out my legs. Seriously, is other people's hair removal (or lack of) that much of an issue?

I am a bit of a hairy mary and if I didn't shave I would look like a gorilla. But I rarely shave the tops of my legs just because I can't be bothered, I do it just above my knee so if I was wearing a skirt you wouldn't see

But, my hair grows so fast, if I shave in the evening, I will be stubbly by the morning, so I usually let it grow a bit before I shave again, even if i was wearing a dress.

I epilate usually but I shave when i get too many ingrown hairs.

My mum on the other hand, is a hairy beast. her leg hairs are about an inch long (not joking) and her armpits are even worse ?

ETA, why was she wearing a summer dress? has no one told her its arctic outside?
