Wow – cant believe I’m sat here writing my own wedding report! Its cliché and everyone says it but the time flies so no “I’ll do it next weekend” J

Our background

Ok so for those that don’t know, we met whilst we were both working for the same company and became good friends. Bad things happened in our lives, which looking back now were the best things that could have happened as it brought us together. Much to everyones disbelief nothing actually happened for months, until I was on holiday with my best mate and she was probing me and I realised how much I missed him – we had only been in NYC for 2 days! So I called him up and spoke rubbish and he was one of the first people I saw when I got back and never looked back!

Two dogs later, we wandered down to our local Italian for some tea. Our anniversary was about a week away and Paul was asking if there was anything I wanted, because he was thinking of getting me something sparkly. My heart stopped so I replied “Is this what I think it means?”. Paul’s response was so romantic it will be remembered in history, “I might be, but I haven’t asked yet. Anyway we need to take a blind back to Dunelm mill tomorrow so whilst we are in town we could go and have a look”.

Indeed we did, and later that night he got down on one knee and made me the happiest woman in the world.

When I was younger my nana and granddad moved to Cornwall to run a shop by the sea, but before they left they asked the retired couple across the road to look after me! Meet Ada and Alf, my surrogate Grandparents, I would do absolutely anything for them. Being in their mid to late 90’s they were unable to come to the wedding, I knew as soon as we started thinking about venues they wouldn’t make it. So when we picked 7th ~April ( Easter weekend) it was perfect to be able to use their favourite flowers – daffodils and tulips! So I felt like they were there with us on our day J

In February Paul’s nana was admitted to hospital and she too was unable to make the wedding. I felt really sad that she wouldn’t be able to make it, but what made it worse was every time we visited her she would say “I need to get fixed for the wedding”. Sadly she passed away on Tuesday morning, seems strange but me and Paul agree it was like she was holding on to hear about the wedding and see our photos. R.I.P. xx

WOW what a wedding report! That was so lovely and I cried!! You dad was so obviously proud of you and didn't want to let you go. I think it was your vows that set I cried mostly about, they were soooo lovely. I hadn't really thought about our vows before but I will now!!

Congratulations to you both. You looked stunning Shellsworth! All the pics you have posted have only increased my high level of excitement! Thank you for letting me share your day through your report.
