Shoe help please

jennapops, 21 October, 2013 at 16:56 Posted on Planning 0 23

Hello Smiley smile

Been lurking for a while but I've seen how helpful you've all been to people looking for things! My fella is only a couple of inches taller than me but I LOVE shoes and really want to get something a bit special for the big day.

Problem is I can't seem to find any special-looking low heeled shoes anywhere. I quite like things like Irregular Choice usually but I think their weddingy shoes wouldn't go that well with my dress which is not quite that quirky!

My dress is mainly lace. Any help would be much appreciated.

Thanks!

I have the opposite problem - I'm extremely short statured (3') with a shoe size to match! I found this lady on one of the wedding emails I get https://www.lesoulier.co.uk/index.php/bespoke-service and think I may get some plain ballet flats and ask her to decorate them.

I bought these from House of Fraser as I've got a weak ankle from a sports injury and they are sooooo comfortable and not very high at all.

Try www.rachelsimpson.co.uk , she does heels as low as 5cm (she does 6, 8 and 9 too I think) which look great and more than a flat. They're lovely shoes, quite vintagey looking. I've ordered some 6cm ones and am excitingly waiting for them!

Also, I saw quite a nice low heel lace shoe on Harriet Wilde's website that was sitting on my Pinterest board for a while.

On Shoesofprey.com you can design your own, heel height, fabric the lot! Unfortunately although I had fun playing, I didnt trust my design skills enough to press the order button Smiley smile

all of these are around the £140-200 mark but I decided they were a worthy investment as I intend to wear them again!

What about buying a simple low good quality one and having it customized for you and have it the way you want? Smiley smile

You could add lace, or beads, or color it...

Completely second this! I haven't bought my shoes yet, but I did try a pair of Rachel Simpson on when I was dress-hunting and they are incredibly comfortable (and quirky enough without being in your face, if that's what you're after ...).

I third this! Beautiful shoes and so comfortable. The vintage styles are really elegant and look amazing with alot of lace styles.

What about the Vivienne Westwood Melissa shoes?

They have a small heel, are a teenie bit quirky as they are jelly but they're not so different that they won't go with a traditional dress?

Thanks so much for your help - that shoes of prey site is amazing and the reason why it's taken me so long to reply! I'm between sizes though so feel a bit scared of ordering from there, although I think I may well waste a few more hours of my life designing!

I love the VW too, but I'm not sure how well the colours will go with my dress. Does anyone know of anything similar? I like the Rachael Simpson but feel they're not quite as special for the price - if there's a sale on the other hand I'm there!

I'm having exactly the same problem! I cant have any higher than 2.5inches because the dress will be too short. The Jimmy choo shoes FF posted are my dream shoes but I can't justify the cost! Still looking for something perfect (you can see them when I walk so I need them to go with the dress/look right and need open toe as others don't seem to go. If I can't find anything else I think I'll go for Rainbow Club Cheryl. they are still £70 but they extremely comfortable and look elegant and i was thinking maybe i could get some shoe clips to jazz them up a bit

Ohhh those Etsy ones are so gorgeous.. but they are non returnable and also from the US and I'm too scared I'll get the wrong size (am usually between sizes and different in every shop!) But they are beautiful..

Good idea to buy plainer ones and get shoe clips actually Smiley smile

Great link to the Shoes of Prey website Helybel. Have been trying to find somewhere that will do 3 or 31/2 inch light blue court shoes with bow - may just design them myself..... Thanks.

Ooh I'm loving these, are they comfy? If you don't mind me asking where did you find them for £32, I can only see them for £39. Bargain though when they should be 200!!!

My dress has come into the shop so going in a few weeks to try it on with Bridesmaids and mum, so was thinking of taking shoes to try with it...

I got them from a private seller. They are amazing. I am a low heeled girl normally but wanted something special for my tea dress. They are really comfy. I love them!!

My OH is the same height as me I have got the Jimmy Choo Isabel's! My justification to myself: 1. I got them at Bicester outlet, and 2. They're glittery so I can wear them again after the wedding! Good luck Smiley smile
