Shoe help please

kelly_070209, 29 December, 2008 at 13:17 Posted on Planning 0 4

Hi,

I am having an issue with bridesmaid shoes. One of my bridesmaids already has some stunning purple shoes which matches my colour theme so I suggested her wearing them for wedding, dont see point in buying more when she already has some. However I am struggling for my other bridesmaid. She would be more comfortable in kitten heels but I cant find any really nice, cheapish (sound really tight but she probably wont wear them again so dont see point in spending a fortune) any ideas? Also I did find some nice shoes, (need to check heel height with her) but they are open toed, whereas the other ones shoes are closed toe, do you think this would look silly?

Thanks

Kelly

Argh just typed long answer and then wifi went down!!!.

why don't you just ask your BM to wear a pair of shoes she already has that are already comfortable for her? would be much less hassle and much cheaper. i've been a BM a number of times and always worn a pair of my own shoes as i'm not a fan of high heels whereas others are (would look *really* silly tottering around as i'm only five foot nothing....)

two BMs wearing different type shoes wouldn't even register with me tbh.

I would say, discuss it with her. There are lots of cute purple shoes out there now. I know, I just got marries with a purple theme. Flat, high, open toed, ballet pumps. Try somewhere like Faith, Oasis, Dune, Warehouse, Debehams, Nine West etc. I saw them everywhere the last few days. And like bluewater said, i would not notice open/closed shoe difference. Perhaps the one thing you want to keep in mind is will she wear tights? I had to because it was cold and I would have prefered not to with my peep toe shoes.

My three bought their own shoes. I asked them to get silver, but told them I didn't care what they looked like otherwise as long as they were comfortable. Their dresses were full length anyway, so it didn't really matter if they matched or not. To be honest, I don't think it matters even if the shoes can be seen! Buy the same shoes for them all and they might not all suit the shoe you've bought.

Exactly what Melancholie said. I asked my BMs if they could buy their own shoes or even wear a pair they already had if they'd prefer. They are wearing black dresses so I said I thought either black or silver sandals would be fine as their dresses are floor length, they won't be seen anyway

It really doesn't matter if they have the same shoes or not - no one will notice!
