Shoe help? ***UPDATE IN OP******

(Claire), 26 March, 2013 at 16:01 Posted on Off Topic Posts 0 52

I have just bought this dress for a trip to London we have coming up, but I really don't know what style/colour shoes to wear with it. Flash me your recommendations. TIA.

So after I said I was going to be brave and go for a color, I decided to stick with boring old nude, a few reasons, firstly as I already explained I’m a plain Jane and even though I tried different colors on they just felt wrong, secondly I will get my wear out of these, they will go with so many things I already have and thirdly and most importantly these were a steal at £15.00 from Kurt Geiger! I am thrilled. I have decided to team this outfit with a blue tailored blazer that I have so it will break the nude overload up a little. I tried it all on last night and it looked really nice. Thanks again for all your efforts Smiley smile

I thought this, but then thought it would be a nude over load, you think not?

See I don't think so as the camel breaks it up.

    Black would go too though.

I say nude or camel if you can get them. Black would seem a bit heavy to me.

or maybe navy patent shoes and bag? (bit off piste there)

PS I think the dress is gorgeous

    *Tangent...

I bought a gorgeous pair of nude patent Carvela heels a while back and have completely lost them. Very annoying. I've never worn them.

Ta AC, I'm visiting my parents this weekend and mum just happens to have every colour shoe imaginable so I'll take the dress with me and try some on see if I can be inspired.

I think nude might be a bit plain. I like the idea of navy. Although pretty much everything i own is navy!!

Say if the dress was all camel or all cream then they would go but do you think they would go with the dress being half and half?

Totally!! esp if you say had a matching coloured pair of earrings, or statement bangle.. I do think nude or navy would be too 'blah' to be honest...plus colour popping is all the rage at the moment dahhhhhhhhhhhhhhling!!!

Sorry - have just saw your post about black shoes.

Not sure if the black/camel pair will be the "right" camel, IYKNWIM

Thanks Sal, first ones are lovely, but I prefer a bit of support round my ankle.

Love the second ones but don't think they would go with the dress.

    Thank you for looking though.

I admire those who wear red, but it's a colour I am very afraid of AC.

PS - love the dress Claire.

What about a plummy colour? I think that black and Navy blue are too cold.

I kind of know what you mean. I have lippy-red dress in my wardrobe - unworn - and i always slope back to my default setting of black. But these would only be on your feet!!

I wore a pair of red heels out once. I got stopped by an Australian woman asking if I was wearing underwear as apparently if you wear red shoes you don't have underwear on. I've never worn them again!!
