Shoe woes

KJHC, 3 January, 2016 at 16:17 Posted on Planning 0 13

So it's finally got around to the part of the wedding I hate the most - shoe shopping! Thought I had found the perfect shoes, but the size 6 was waaay too big and the 5 hurt just standing in them so they're a no no. Took them back today and had a look around - I lasted an hour before losing my patience! My dress is white lace so ivory shoes are out (even though all shoes seem to be ivory than white). Ivory shoes look terrible against the lace sample I carry around with me, my colour theme is duck egg/light blue so I'm OK with finding shoes that colour - they don't have to be white! Doesn't help that I absolutely HATE my feet (I'm having treatment to have thread veins removed - I hate them that much), so getting my feet out in shops is my worst nightmare.

Sorry - bit of a PP, but needed a rant!

On the plus side - being in a busy bridal shop reminded me that at least I don't have to shop for a dress anymore - which I did with just my mum and only went to two shops!

What about rainbow club shoes? Have you tried them? They can dye most of their shoes in looooooads of different colours! Do you could choose a pair and dye them duck egg blue?

That's a good idea - thanks! Will try and find a stockist so can try them on before dying them - to add to the shoe misery, I'm a 5.5!

You may actually be a lifesaver! Have just been playing around with their colour demo tool and am choosing between one of these! Off to the Oxford Street store tomorrow - thank you so much!!!

Have you tried an insole in the size six? I'm usually about a 6.5 and had a similar problem to you but the 7 with an insole fit like a glove. They're not a full length insole, they just fit the toe end of the shoe and are really thin, you won't believe me how much of a difference it makes!

Hi ExpensivePinkCars - really depends on the shoe in my case! Sometime the insoles work, most of the time they don't. Just going to suck it up and go to the John Lewis shop on Oxford Street (kill me now) in my lunch break tomorrow and try some on. At least I'll be wearing tights, so minimal foot viewing. I'll be wearing tights or stockings on the big day - another foot gripe - my feet blister in a nanosecond without some sort of barrier between them and the shoe!

Oh JOY, oh RAPTURE, I have found and bought my shoes!! I went to John Lewis and tried some Rainbow Club shoes on and ended up ordering the first ones in my shoe flash above in a very light blule! They are SO comfy. really glad I went in to try them on - was going to order a 5.5 online, but I ended up being a 5. And I got the matching bag while I was at it :-)

    Thank you SO much Mrslh2b!

KJHC - they're beautiful! I'm another Rainbow Club shoes-person - I usually can't stand wearing heels, but for the brief time I've had them on (and been 'breaking them in') they're very comfortable!

Well done, another thing ticked off the list!

I have problems walking which force me to wear flat shoes so I'm struggling to find anything pretty or weddingy. Any ideas anyone?

Those are gorgeous! I'm slightly dreading going wedding shoe shopping. I can't find anything online that I really like! Rainbow Club sadly out of my budget.

For those looking for flat shoes, have your tried ASOS? I got mine from there for £20 and they had loads of lovely flats that I saw while looking.
