Shoe/Dress Dilemma

FutureMrsO'L, 16 September, 2016 at 12:33 Posted on Planning 0 13

I am having a bit of a dilemma about the shoes I have bought...

I was recently RIDICULOUSLY lucky to win a £500 voucher for Christian Louboutin right after I got engaged. Immediately I thought wow this is absolutely perfect timing, now I can get the most perfect pair of shoes for my Wedding! So in my haste I have already been & bought a gorgeous pair of their Bridal shoes which I absolutely love. However I am wondering if maybe I have been way too eager & might end up regretting this decision...

They were not cheap (I had to pay more on top of the £500 voucher ?) & now I am thinking this may have been a bit of a waste, as there is the chance they won't really get seen? I haven't even tried any dresses on yet so I am not 100% sure of the type of thing that I may want. I have seen some of the shorter dresses which are absolutely stunning but I have always envisioned myself in a more traditional floor length dress. I've been thinking there might be the potential that I'd regret getting a shorter dress as in my head my Wedding dress is the only chance I will ever get to wear something truly princessy hahaa! But then some of the ones I have seen online are so amazing!

Are there any Brides who are had/have a shorter dress? Was it an easy decision?

Am I completely crazy for having bought the shoes before even considering a dress?! I fear this may be the case ?

Are they shoes you could wear again? Ooooo can we have a flash of the shoes anyway? You can always have the pic of you lifting your dress to show off the shoes.

If you are really regretting your choice can you change the shoes? Something you would definitely wear more after. Lots of brides wear coloured shoes under their dress.

What about a length that sits at the ankle? I love those ones & you'd get the length & see your shoes at the same time. Like this? Sorry it's massive.

I bet your shoes are amazing - it'd be a shame not to show it off!

They are quite obviously Bridal shoes to be honest, but I would be happy wearing them again after. I had dark jeans on when I bought them & they looked quite nice.

I will see if I can figure out how to flash a picture for you Smiley smile

I am unsure whether they could be exchanged or not, especially due to the whole voucher thing. I might email their customer service team & enquire about it.

They are beautiful shoes but as you say I'm sure they are something you can wear again. I would chose a dress you love and not be worried about whether your shoes will show. You might regret not having something you loved that happened to be long. If the dress is not make sure you have a photo taken coming don sme steps or funny ng with your dress lifted up lol.

Ahh thank you. I think I am probably just over thinking things a little too much! I am definitely going to have a look at some fun photo ideas to shoe them off - I hadn't thought of that Smiley smile

What gorgeous shoes! I wish I didn't have horrific man size feet so I could have a pair!!

I also spent silly money (for me) on a pair of shoes. Nobody will see them, but I'm planning on doing a couple of shoe flashing shots, and the tog usually does accessory shots before you get ready anyway Smiley smile

I definitely wouldn't regret those shoes - you can definitely wear them again!

    xx

Awhh thank you so much! I do really love them & I am now super excited to find some photo ideas for them.

Ever so slightly heart broken at the moment as I came home from a weekend away to find they'd been relegated to the loft by my OH until nearer the time of the Wedding (when I have the joyful task of attempting to wear them in ? ) Now I can no longer sit & admire them ?.

Sneak them back down Smiley winking

They need wearing in, obviously, don't want you complaining on the day Smiley winking

I've had mine since... March? Don't get married until April next year and I spent an hour wandering around the house in them on Saturday. Needed to be done Smiley winking

Make sure if you do wear them to get a few shoots of the shoes from the photographer, like this is what I got of my shoes, you can do similar one with your wedding rings through the heel.

Shoes that beautiful can't live in the loft - get them back out immediately! ?

I'm tempted to start wearing my shoes in now - 9 months isn't too early is it?

It's decided - they are coming back out hahaa!

Oooh no never too early - the more time the better I say! In 9 months you'll be a pro & be able to effortlessly float down the aisle & then bust some awesome moves on the dance floor later on ?
