Shoes....

Pix-e, 3 February, 2014 at 16:24 Posted on Planning 0 12

Hi Ladies, it may sound silly, but shoes are starting to cause me a little bit of irritation! I want to get my shoes quite soon with only 4 months to go i want enough time to break them in to avoid blisters etc....but i can't decide what is acceptable price wise to spend on them... my dress is floor length so wan't going to go all elaborate on them, but i feel almost like it's a waste to spend £50-£60 on a pair of plain Ivory court shoes....! Am i being a bit silly here?! I was thinking that i could dye them black or something after the day, but i still feel like i'm wasting money if i spend a lot on them....does anyone know of anywhere that does a nice simple low heel court?! and roughly how much is everyone spending on their shoes??

    Ebay have a great choice of wedding shoes. Mine were 19.99 and are red and stunning. Take a look on there if you dont want to spend a lot of money x

    Hi Pix-E

    I'm in a similar dilema. I've seen some ivory satin that would go perfectly with my dress but cost £160! I'll never wear them again so waste of money in my book. I've also seen some silver ones, that I might wear again in Dune for £70 or silver ones in Next at £30....If the £160 shoes were shoes I could & would wear again, then I would go for them...but I'm hoping to get some between £70 & £30 mark that I'll be able to wear again.

    Hi, is there a pair of shoes that you would wear for work or going out? Do you have to have plain ivory? I'm with you on needing to justify the expense by wearing them again. Alot of ladies on here have bought irregular choice shoes, me included. I bought these when they were on sale;

    but I also had these;

    Have you looked at BHS? They have a nice selection of ivory wedding shoes which are about £20 - £35. I have fallen in love with a designer pair that are £200, but I can't justify that for a plain ivory court shoe! I don't think I will spend more than £45, especially as my BMs are getting me custom converse for the evening, so I'm only going to be wearing heels for half the day!

    I ended up buying shoes that aren't bridal in the slightest, thought the same thing that i'd never wear them again so bought ones that I would.
    If you're after ivory / satin though go down the ebay route or the sales in bhs, Debenhams etc. I saw some lovely mid heel ones on sale in newlook that looked like wedding shoes for £10 too so worth looking around Smiley smile

    I love shoes and will always spent a bit if money on a decent pair! My wedding shoes so be no different and I'll be splashing out in a pair if heels but not typical bridal ones in hope to be able to wear them again and again and again!

    in fact I have a wedding to attend in August and I've already picked out a dress to go with them so I can show them of again properly without them hidden under my wedding dress!

    I bought mine from the Rachel Simpson outlet store online. They were half price, but still about £80. However, they were the most comfortable shoes I think I've ever worn and the cheapest pair of low heeled bridal shoes that I actually liked! In fact, I loved them:

    Think outside the box Pix-e. As soon as you put 'wedding' in front of something you can add an extra 50 quid right away. You can get some lovely shoes on ebay that have been worn once or twice or splash out on a pair that you'll wear again. Mine were £20 :-)

    I got mine in the Dune sale for £40. They aren't traditional bridal shoes, just silver, small heel and I'll be able to wear them again. If you want traditional bridal shoes try Debenhams or BHS, both often have sales on too

    Penny p you are totally right, as soon as wedding is mentioned the price is stupid! It's just like putting a designer name on something...I won't wear ivory satin shoes again and they won't be seen really either...I don't know why I didn't think of it before I love nude patient shoes and the ones I currently have are on their last legs. I think I will look for a replacement pair of those as I will wear them and they go with everything...not forgetting that if they get a little dirty on the day they will be so much easier to clean than satin...I should also easily be able to get a nice pair for less than )30... Thanks girlies, I love these forums and it definitely helps getting other heads together it helps organise your own brain, I don't know about you but I feel all my brain is filled with some days is set colours and designs and it can be hard to think outside the box!!

    Thank you all so much!!!! Xxx

    Hi, I trawled through so many websites finding the right pair of shoes at a not-too-ridiculous price. I finally found a pair I loved, were the perfect heel height for £59. Didn't want to spend that much so I then searched google, amazon, ebay for the same shoes. I managed to find them on ebay, still brand new in the box, for £28. Have ordered them, just waiting for them to arrive but that is definitely a good way to get some nice shoes without spending a fortune. Hope this helps x
