Shoes, I don't know what to wear!

Aconite, 29 August, 2014 at 20:41 Posted on Planning 0 7

Hello Everyone,

My wedding is on bonfire night. I am having my dress made for me, It is 50s tea length. I've designed it myself, so I know I'm going to love it. My problem is shoes! I am very tall so never wear heels. All the bridal shoes that I see for sale are nearly all satin & heeled. My dress is taffeta and lace. Satin won't be suitable since it's November, in Edinburgh and it could well rain! Any ideas about what I could wear would be gratefully received.

    Hiya!

We're getting married on 1st November, I also have this problem, however my dress is long! My bridesmaids however have 50's style dresses and they are wearing converse style pumps with little frilly socks (they are 11, 13 & 14!). I am also wearing blinged converse but you can't see my feet because I'm the same height as my other half so no heels for me, I'm 5'10 so don't wear heels at the best of times!

Dont know if that helps. Good luck! X

Thanks for the reply. Love the sound of your Converse, they are so comfy to wear. Hope you have a wonderful day when it arrives.

Thanks for your reply. Yes, I have seen and tried on these shoes. They are beautiful but take me over 6 foot in height!! I will just have to keep searching. Hope your day is wonderful, enjoy wearing the shoes!

What about a special pair of flats from Louboutin orJimmy Choo. This way you can really show them off with your shorter dress?

French Sole also do good quality flats. If it goes with your dress, how about blue glittery shoes. Then they will really be a statement and can double up as your something blue?

I'd go for something really striking with a shorter dress. Dyed satin with a lace overlay and then well sealed with spray against the rain! Or fabulous boots!

Have a look at Shoes of Prey or DIY them.

I always think the mel shoes from Vivian westwood look lovely with the tea length dresses and she does them in flats plus they are plastic so waterproof

    xx
