Shoes, please help

Sarah67, 17 November, 2012 at 11:11 Posted on Planning 0 3

Hi ladies I am having a real shoe problem. Have bought my 2nd pair now but think I will have to send them back. To start with I am 5'2 and OH is 6'2. I get sever pain in the ball of my right foot when wearing high heels. I have bought all sorts of party gel feet thing's and inserts for going in the back of the shoe and nothing works I really need to be able to have heels that are 3 inch high. I wore the some I had ordered indoors yesterday (whilst ironing) to test them out and had them on for 2 hours and woke this morning with the ball of my foot still throbbing.

Any miracle cures or should I just resign myself to the fact I need lower heels? ☹️

How about having a higher pair just for the ceremony and photos and then a funky flat pair to change into afterwards? I'm sure there are hitchers who can flash you their low heeled shoes for inspiration!

What about getting some wedges, that way you've got the height without the crippling pain on the ball of your feet?

I've gone for wedges as I'm rubbish in heels but need some extra height as my OH & I have a similar height difference to you

Why does it matter if your OH is much taller than you on the day?

Hes always going to be, and if you don't wear heels, why do something different just because it's your wedding day. Photographers will make sure your pics etc will be in proportion, so don't worry about that.

I have the opposite situation...I'm 5'9", OH is 6'1" and my shoes have a nearly 5 inch heel. And I couldn't give a monkeys ?

Like said already have you tried wedges? Or shoes that have a slight platform at the front these are decieving as they look really high but dont feel as high?

If you have the same pain everytime you wear heels have you ever tried rolling your feet out? Sounds ridiculous I know! But I am a dance teacher so spend a lot of time on the balls of my feet, you have lots of little muscles in your feet that you can strain just like big muscle. You can stretch them out by rolling your foot onto something - tins, tennis/golf balls.

Anyway like Kirstabubble says I wouldn't worry too much about the height difference. Im 5'2 aswell and OH is 6ft he likes the fact im little and I wouldn't worry about looking silly as a photographer will make sure you don't!!
