Shoooooes! (How much are you spending?)

sophamie, 26 April, 2012 at 22:11 Posted on Planning 0 55

So I'm not a girly girl. Not in the slightest...but I've decided I want some quite funky shoes for my wedding...but thought I'd get fed up on heels by the time we sit down for the meal so was going to get a pair of cheapish heels for the ceremony and photos etc...and then a lovely pair of flats or low heels for the rest of the day which would be fairly expensive and funky looking.

So my task now is to negotiate with my OH how much I'm allowed to spend on shoes for our wedding! This could be intersting!

How much are you guys all spending??

I wsnted a pair of either silver Choos (£380), or a pair of cute flat Lanvins (£400), but I have since been given funny looks by my mum and OH so I shall have to go for a more reasonably priced pair. Plus, I want wedding wellies (we're going to have pics in countryside).

I spent £50ish on some Irregular Choice shoes rrp £65. Mine were worn once, on Ebay. Initially I budgeted £60 for shoes, but then decided that I'd pay up to £140 if needed for me to get sthg I really liked, even if it meant me adding some extra money to the budget. I love the high sparkly shoes, but I wouldn't wear them again and would find them uncomfortable. IC shoes are SO comfy. I decided on flat-ish shoes purely because my dress is being cut to wear barefoot (beach wedding) and I wanted to dance in them too.

Well, me and my OH are hoping to get custom made Converse, which I believe will cost us £60 each, but then I chose my dress today and I want a nicer pair, at least for the day time. I had already found a pair I looo-oooved, at £195, but talked myself out of them because they were way too expensive. But then my dress was way cheaper than we budgeted for, and so my Mom said that I should get them after all ? so, I'm pretty much spending £260 for two pairs of shoes...

? they are beautiful!!! I've been looking at Choos too & my dress was a lot cheaper than I budgetted for so I've told H2B I'm having amazing shoes ? a funny look followed but he loves shoes just as much so I'm sure I can persuade him ?

Also, wedding wellies!!!? Never heard of these - anyone got a link or flash I can see? We are also having lots of pics in fields & would love these for a few pics ?

If I have to get boring ivory shoes then I'll be looking for something cheap but I'm hoping for a nice pair from Dune that I can wear again. They're around £100 just now but hoping they'll go into the sale.

YoungAndInLove I need wellies too in case it snows and am hoping to get something like this. Most are about £45 brand new but I'm hoping to pick up a pair second hand as I bet loads of people buy them and don't need them.

Aww they're so cute - love how they have a bit of a heel!! I didn't think about getting preloved ones, but you're right - there must be loads of brides that buy them and never wear them again, you don't really see many people wearing white wellies on a regular basis ?

I am hoping to have the Rainbow wellies - https://www.wonderfulwellies.co.uk.

I fancied a bit of colour ? So, probably now looking at under £50 for shoes.

I spent a whole £25 on mine but then they are just ivory lace ones that won't get worn again. I just couldn't find a perfect pair of any unusual ones that I was looking at and realised that no-one will be able to see them anyway! I just need to find some flip flops now for when I get sick of walking in heels (albeit 3 inch ones!).

Mine are lowish ivory satin heels from Kurt Geiger and cost £65.00. I doubt I will spend all day in them and will no doubt end up in a pair of flats twrds the end but won't bother parting with much money wise as no one will be interested in what i have on my feet at that point. I have a pair of pink ballet shoes that i'll probs use. xxxx

Mine where just from Next, £45, they are high but feel super comfy on my feet.... and they arent to weddingy, so if they are still in decent condition could possibly where them again.

As my reception is in a marquee on the farm I will be wearing wellies at some point to, I have blue Hunters, so that could be my something blue!

My BM's are in pink and i thought my pink shoes would be perfect. I may have to buy myself some FAB shoes for the honeymoon tho!! Smiley smile

£35. But I bought 4 pairs before these (very indecisive!) ranging from £25-40. Returned one pair, sold one on ebay, wearing the other two for other people's weddings. So net spend is about £105. Whoops!

£120.00 On Vivienne Westwood Lady Melissa Dragon heart Shoes in Nude, with a pinky red heart, from ASOS.

Tried them in the Shop last night with my dress, and it left the shop smelling of bubblegum. Plus I was surprised by how much you could see them under the dress - when you pick skirt up, when you sit down, when you walk xx

MrsONeill2B I saw these too and really loved them, but I don't think I will be able to get away with spending that much on shoes ☹️ I haven't found any other shoes I like yet though.... Do they look as good in the flesh?

Mine are from the Vivenne Westwood Anglomania range and cost £120. The most I've ever spent on a pair of shoes but I love them. I'm wearing a knee length dress so I thought I deserved shoes to show off. In fact the shoes are more expensive than my dress!
