Shooooooooes

Kat44, 4 November, 2010 at 21:01 Posted on Planning 0 15

I really want to wear purple shoes on my wedding day, I know you can get shoes that can be dyed to match so I'm thinking about doing that. I've been surfing for ages but can't decide on one pair, I like a lot of them! although I love Lily by Henry Kaye but I don't think they will go with my dress at all ☹️

Anyway, I'm going off my point!! My main question is whether to go for 'regular' shoes as in normal high street type shoes, or whether to go for proper 'wedding shoes' (pink, rainbow club etc)? I've heard they're padded so more comfortable, is that true?

What type of shoes have you gone for / had?

as an aside.. should anyone see any mid-height purple shoes that are lovely, please let me know ?

    Hey,

I have a purple theme like you and was tempted by going purple but have decided to stay ivory. BUT I seen these in my fave shoe shop that I was tempted to buy and they have £60 off!

I was thinking that I wanted purple shoes but then I fell in love with these little beauties

These are a lot more traditional than I thought I wanted and are Merlot by Else. Yhey are more money than I normally spend but they are sooooo comfy and I can have them dyed for free after the wedding.

I have however guided (ok demanded lol) that my sister get the purple ones as bridesmaid shoes, that I wanted in the first place ?

This is probably no help at all xxxx

Your shoes are gorgeous fluffy. Can I be cheeky and ask where they are from?

    xx

I dont think you necessarily have to go with a wedding shoe persay. I went with high street, but then again they arnt traditional wedding shoes but i love them and quite honestly even though they a rediculously high they are comfy.....ok i havnt worn them for more than 5 minutes, maybe ask me after 6 hours of being on my feet! ?

I feel the same. I have traditional white (+diamante) for the day and then non-traditional navy for the evening and am currently looking for some red ones too. They are on my mood board:

I'm having these by Irregular Choice:

Sorry for the massive pics! They're lined with velvet and are really comfortable. I also have them in purple as going out shoes:

I have gone for high street shoes too. Both are from New Look. One for the day and one for the evening.

Thanks everyone, I guess then that traditional 'wedding' shoe companies aren't really any more comfortable than normal high street ones?

I've found a few that I do like (definitely be in purple), just trying to decide whether to go for any of them or not (the lacy ones I love but don't think they will go with my dress and also don't think they are dyeable!)

I've heard Rainbow Club shoes are very comfy as they have a hidden platform in them...

I guess its each to their own and what one person finds comfortable another might not?

I'd say if you can find some which don't need dying then thats your best bet.

I've heard from an OM (can't remember who) that the dye runs if they get wet!
