Short Hair Help

woo-woo, 3 March, 2010 at 11:06 Posted on Planning 0 19

I'm off to the hairdresser on Saturday for a cut and colour, my hairdresser is a friend and said she would do some styles on my hair before she cuts it to see what I like but I'm struggling to think of anything remotely weddingy for my hair. Growing my hair is not an option as it drives me mad lol so it will pretty much be this length for the wedding. It's very short at the back so an updo would look awkward I think.

Was thinking maybe a french plait along the front? But then would that look ok with a veil?

Any ideas or pics would be greatly appreciated!

Yeah I think a plait going across the front would look lovely, perhaps with some diamonte pins/grips would do away the need for a tiara?

I'm not going to be much help (sorry!) but just wanted to say your hair is very similar to mine (but more the same length all around) and I'm struggling to think of anything special to do with it too. Having said that I like it how I have it normally and want to feel like me on my wedding day, so I'm thinking at the moment that I might just backcomb it into a slight quiff for some height behind my tiara, got very thick hair so fingers crossed this should be ok.

Hope you manage to decide on something!

Although at the moment my hair has been growing as I have been so hard saving I havent had it cut for ages. So I am contemplating getting it cut and styled like this, and just having it re-styled on the wedding morning

Thanks for your ideas, I like the idea of diamontes thru the plait and also love the first pic Zippy posted.

It's hard when you have short hair to imagine how it will be and if it'll feel different enough from my everyday hair, I do love having short hair, I had hair down to my bum til I was 15, there's so many things you can do for longer hair, short hair is quiet limiting, if only I could have my 15 year old hair back just for one day ha ha!

Oooh thanks Rae, I have saved the middle pic to my images, her hair looks the same length as mine at the back, very funky, love the butterfly slide too!

Zippy, I've got ur first photo in my top 3. My hair's a little bit longer than that but like the way the Tiara was sitting in it

I like the first one too! How about extensions or hairpieces put in to make it a little bit longer so you can have an 'up do' if you really wanted one x

    Hi ladies

Was just searching through the forum for "Short Hair" posts. I'm a short/funky hair kind of girl too. I don't think I'd consider growing it overly long or getting too many extentions but I do want to feel special on the day and just wanted to share the frustrations us B2B with short hair have to face. Grrrrr!

I have short hair, one side longer than the other (probably like Frankie from the Saturdays I guess). I was thinking of maybe adding an extension on the longer side so then I could add some soft curls, or I'm going to grow my short side so it is the same length as my "long" side and have a more sensible do.

Sorry I am not much help, but wanted to add my 2cents ?

Maybe a couple of hair gems/jewels?

A hairdresser showed me them once... examples at www.lucypremium.co.uk (first thing I found but I bet there are loads of other sites)

I love the first one zippy posted and you could have a plait instead of a hairband. You could put twist in crystals in for sparkle https://www.3djewellery.co.uk/index_files/hair_diamonds.htm
