Does anyone have any experience of shorthand or speed writing?
I've been in my current role almost a year, after working my way up through the business I'm now PA to the MD. Part of this role is to take minutes in a monthly meeting that is held but I've never done a secretarial course so am struggling with it and also keeping up! ?
The company have offered to pay for me to go on a shorthand course or similar if I feel it would help. Having had a quick google there seems to be a minefield of choice out there. I'm not sure if I'd be able to grasp the Pittman's/Gregg "squiggles" and am worried about signing up for something that would be a waste of time and money.
I like the idea of getting a book to try and get the gist before a course, or possibly learn myself from home.
Have you got any recommendations of books/writing styles/where to start!?! ?
