Should I just settle?

Jadeyjade, 17 August, 2013 at 10:49 Posted on Planning 0 5

I'm feeling so disheartened we are on a mega tight budget we were going to get married in dec but said we were going to push it back to July and use the same ideas but we had a thought where we could keep costs right down but have the reception in a local pub with a marquee although we are having a late wedding at 4pm I still like the ideas of tables ect for a sit down buffet type thing but it's not big enough so although it looks 1000x nicer than what we had originally thought of but it means it's just going to turn into a party their will be no wedding reception just some seats a dance floor do in another room with doors open (not allowed dj in marquee) some seats ect and then find everyone in various parts of the pub I just don't think it's a fab idea but I'm not going to get a venue cheaper Smiley sad x

Where are you? I'm sure someone on here can help you find a venue within your budget.

If ur moving it to July it will cost more as that's within the peak season for weddings.

Why not next dec? Gives you time to find a venue and barter!

    Chin up love xx

I did get an email off Hitched this morn for Novotel at £999! I am not sure if it is worth you taking a look at something like that?! Depends what you want? What's the budget and area you are looking. See what we Hitchers can find?! X

Marquee seats 45 and have 80guests thats just family it accommodates 100 and something without a dance floor and no tables set up theirs a small restaurant that you go through has around 15 pub tables (it's a traditional country pub with thatched roof ect it's lovely!) and can have buffet in their and dj in their and just hope the lights go into the room or not have a dj and hook up a ipod or something so we have music has a massive garden and big smoking area and the pub part itself so theirs room for everyone but everyone would be totally split up and I can only see that theirs no difference between a 18th birthday party and a wedding reception Smiley sad but can't afford anything else really Smiley sad we have been engaged for nearly 7 years with 2 children and have always said we will wait until we have the money but that just hasn't happened Smiley sad I know I'm being selfish in holding some money aside for a honeymoon but we have never been away before just the two of us it's just really not what I wanted I know a lot of people don't get what they want but I don't want to look back in a few years and just think we should have waited but we don't want to wait anymore and timing is crucial to have my dad with me x
