Should I make an official complaint?.

catnor, 8 October, 2014 at 12:44 Posted on Planning 0 9

Just looking for some advice from you lovely lot.

I have had booked for a year a surprise tribute act for my H2B, the venue this week emailed him all details of wedding to confirm and stated on there the start time for 'surprise tribute act for groom'

They were aware it was a surprise, actually had surprise wrote down yet still emailed it to him. I have paid £750 for 1 hours tribute and nowH2B knows think its all a waste of time and money.

Oh no that's terrible, why do people ruin surprises! I would be phoning them to complain, tell them how upset you are that they have done this as it was a surprise for your husband!!! X

I would definitely complain! How stupid of them! I would also ask them to reimburse you the £750

I think that you should say something certainly. It was really thoughtless and shows a lack of care, but was, after all a mistake not a deliberate attempt to sabotage everything.

Are you more upset that the surprise has been ruined or that he has been negative about it? Could you cancel and arrange another surprise to pay him back for being grumpy? How does he know how much it cost?

Now he doesn't think it's a waste at all, I do now he knows as I was willing to pay that much for it to be a surprise.

So your fiance found out that you planned a surprise for him. He found out early but the anticipation is still there. To be honest it might be better like this as there is so much going on at a wedding reception a surprise might be the last thing he needs. I'm so glad he's excited now....you can build up to it together!

...and still kick the venue's butt!

So you're saying because he's found out he can't have it anymore? That's a bit mean! I'm sure he'll be getting excited about it now. Id complain but wouldn't cancel.

Oh no that's terrible! I'd definitely complain, and also ask for a refund, or if you're keeping them then a discount as a gesture of good will. I'm sure it was an accident, but goodness they should be more professional. glad to hear hubby to be is now more on board with it though x

Yes complain. But dont worry about it not being a surprise, it's still a good idea and he'd still be happy with it.

Yes, definitely talk to the venue about it - it's pretty dumb of them to have written to him when it expressly says surprise for the groom... I would ask for some sort of discount.

How did they get his email address? I wouldn't have given this to them if it shouldn't be used. They may not have realised it was the grooms?
